Hello mod, thanks for sharing.

Is that your transport bike? If it is, its impressive and definitely took you quite alot of effort to keep it that way.

Wax works wonders on my metal tank.

Wipe after rain, Use a chain wax instead.

Use gt85 to clean instead of wd40.

Detergent works wonders.

wah. serious ah. you actually collect rainwater when it rains?

When touring, its usually the rider that give way first before the bike itself.

bleh, got something on. gonna have to pass. happy bike washing.

i just use some cheapo carwash liquid bought from those ABC bargain stores for $2, and forgot what brand carnuba wax for bike. bought from Giant for abt $10. works fine for me. i think armourall is overpriced.

i riding a first hand bike. got to say regular washing and waxing helps keep the bike in tip-top condition. esp for the paint finish and external bits. once i parked beside another bike of same model, similar milage, and number place. the fella's bike looks really old and dull. mine still look new and shiny. a world of difference.

Heres what I use,

1) Bike shampoo - No preference. Anything that is cheap off the shelves.

2) Wax - I prefer 3M liquid wax or Maxima Spray and Shine. I also use Pledge too.

3) Chain cleaner/lube - I use kerosene to clean the chain and currently using Dupont Teflon spray to lube

4) Rim cleaner - Just use the spray and shine

5) Matt Black surface - I use Maxima SC1. Very highly recommendable

6) Cleaning tools - I use hand to wash the bike especially on the painted surface to avoid scratching the surface. Of course for those area like rims and engine compartment, I use cloth or sponge. I also use those bottle which can built up compress air inside to spray the water. This way, I only use 1/4 pail of water to wash my bike.

What kind of bottle may I ask? The only thing that comes to mind when I read it was super soaker water gun.

No la, before I tend to leave bike parking in open without cover, use rain to clean the bike. :p

Why not use diesel? Buy the metal can from the petrol station then pump diesel.

Btw, use thin oil after using diesel or your chain will rust.

I got my kerosene from my dad office. He has one big tin on unused kerosene. Don't know where he got it. Diesel is fine too. Actually if you ride your bike often, your chain won't rust so easily unless it is always exposed to rain etc. I never "oil" the chain after washing with kerosene at all. Just spray with the usual chain wax after that will do. And I only spray a little bit only and on the inner side of the chain. No rust even after 1 week of non-riding but my bike is always under sheltered nor ride in the rain (if possible).

Pledge is GOOD stuff! Everyone should try it. I don't find it oily, just slippery but not those oily kind of slippery. And easy to apply also. After that my bike smell of lemon. NICE!

cool stuff. i shall try it! thanks guys.
