Hey fellow X8ers!

I need some advice on the following 2 problems:

1)Got a problem with my rear shocks. Apparently quite boppy and am feeling the road quite a bit. Went to AS Phoon and they say its the Swing Arm that needs to be replaced for about $90+. The mechanic advised not to ride too fast but I'm concerned as to whether it is safe to carry on riding or not.

Was thinking if I should go to other shops like the ones mentioned in Kallang which specialise in scooters.

2)Also, went throttling at low speeds, like during heavy traffic for e.g... The bike seems to be vibrating quite strongly before reaching a "biting point" of sorts, once I pick up on speed then the strong vibration goes away. Is this normal or something to do with my belt?

Thanks for any info/advice!

Cheers,

Desmond

Hi guys,

Need some advise. My bro ride the X8. Unfortunately he broke his key and lost the part with the chip. Without the chip the bike wont be able to start. He went to the shop and and they say that they don't keep spare keys. I just dun understand why the shop has no extra keys as the bike is still under hire purchase. They ask my bro to go back to agent and make new keys which cost about 200 plus.

Is there any other place that can get the replacement key other than the agent?

Thanks guys.

The Key with the Chip for programming, only Agent carries. So looks like there's no other choice.

where is the "mother Key"??? it's a key brown in colour... if u lose that key... then need new one... but i believe shop will keep the mother key till u pay finish the loan.... spare keys they don't keep but "mother key" they normally will.... and if "borrow" from them some shop will ask u to pay... think 10-20 dollars..... u might want to contact Botak from wonderful motors and see what other alternative u can look at.... 96936520

to your 1st qn; - a new X8 few years back was 7200-7500 machine price.... depending on shops too.... think your FZ X8 can easily cost u abt 4-5k inclusive of insurance.....

to your 2nd qn ; - Servicing at Piaggio is definitely more ex. than normal bike shop.... don't ask me why.... i just know it..... cos compared with another biker who did a full svc there before.....

it all depends on how badly is the damage........if it's a overhaul... i don't think it's that much.... but if crash and need to replace parts.... it is possible.... fork set alone can set u back by abt 7-8 hnd dollars......... call me at 92745438 and we can discuss it over the phone to see if it's worth it to take over the bike.....i should be able to provide u with a rough guide on the cost of repairs.....

Hey bro, I just change mine for $220 at Wonderful Motor. Heard from Botak that other places charge $180. But what's special is the special "modification" that Botak do that will help it last longer. Hope that helps.
