SCENIC SINGAPORE RIDE

 

Thanks for the overwhelming response to the idea of a local ride.... After a discussion with some of the bros here last friday at Hot, stuffy and sweaty Simpang, we have a suggestion of the ride being held on the Last weekend of June.

 

That will be the 27th June 2010.... Now can we have a show of hands for the ride...any violent objections?

 

The route will be planned out in due time but not disclosed to anyone till the ride day itself... This will add to the fun factor of the ride

 

Our Bro David has also voiced out interests in checking out BOB'S HOME STAY off Kota Tinggi and from reviews, it seems like a nice place to hold a VARA Get together before the end of the year.

 

Lets all come to the next meetup and discuss the interests....

Bob homestay is a gd place to stay only if the grp is big. BBQ will be done for you n food catered in house. So make sure the number is big. Since its end of the yr, i assume it shld be dec... let me prewarn.. dec 11 is my big day. So plan accordingly. Thanks.

yea ... tat ride is awesome .. still looking cos i may need to let go of my current ride first ...

anyway , can i check, i noe its normal to have high mileage on a vara , but in terms of resale or engine will there be any need for concern ? I know its meant to tour but ya hope u guys get my point ..

qai>> high miles doesnt means its bad. As long as the owner takes good care of the bike. Of cos , buying a tourer is to tour. And tours will accumulate miles. The XLV engines are detuned from firestorm. Some bike mag said its bullet proof, which I think very true, Its built to really last. So unless its not taken care of, I shdn't be too worried on the engine part,

In case you haven't heard the news, Yan Curly's father passed away earlier evening today.

 

 

My dear VARA bruders,

 

my late father passed on late thursday nite after succumbing to a heart attack leading to coma since last Sunday's nite.

 

the whole funeral and burial process was done in Malaysia on friday where he is resting in peace in Seremban, Malaysia.

 

my sincere thanks to those who smsed, post on FB etc your well-wishes...

Jst to share something... one of the riders used to be an alumni classmate with my MHA's sister back in University Malaya(KL)...

each week, without fail, she would ride down & up from KL to S'pore to visit her family in spore.. I suppose the only brudder who cn attune to that is brudder Nabil...

I sincerely hope that come next VARA domestic tour, we can all take some time together to commerate the times we choose to ride instead of taking other forms of commute, take time to stay late for TCS foregoing simple pleasures like personal rest from work & sleep, taking the time to help a stranded brudder of there( I've been in this situation; those heros who helped,,, you noe who you are!!!) and most importantly taking the time that we honor , respect, value the circle of riders albeit all forms of rides, circle of families albeit to those still single or married and circle of gentlemen albeit from all walks of lives... check this link and sign up k!
