i am looking btw $1.5k - $2k.. but certainly i would want to have experience to increase employability chances for myself. but i am wondering on where to go and get exp when noone is going to employ inexperienced personnel.

Normally u wont be hired With 0 Experience. But If u lucky got company willing to try u. Yr Pay will be 1.3 to 1.6K the Most.. U can't expect higher then that, If u do. They will ask you go find another company.

From there, u can start gettin ur exp. Regardin pay wise, just dun expect more than 2k for a start. But if u r able to get more, than of coz its good.

for most if not all companies, if they have a choice of not having any safety around, they would choose not to hire any. they only employ safety when they have big projects worth millions. so when they employ, they expect you to be able to run the show yourself and they don't care about anything safety. so if you are in experience, that's it. but that's not your end here, go find a company that has got already at least 2 or 3 safety guys so you can learn from them or share workload. best from consultancy firm, they will deploy you along with 2-3 other safety guys. once you are in, open up your eyes and ears and be very pro active, take part in all inspections and meetings. you'll learn something from there and talking to people at site.

even at the regulatons of 1 safety to 25 workers, most companies will ali baba take in only one safety even they have up to 100 workers. so you see why is it hard for in experience people to get in. it's actually a jungle out there.

A "Toolbox Meeting" for all Safety Persons here will be nice.

 

I had graduated from the "older generation" WSHO Course from Singapore Poly and have a Certificate in WSHO. In this "older generation" WSHO Course, regardless of which industry you are from, we have to study about Construction, Shipyard, Chemicals, etc... in this course. But it seemed that for the newer gerneation WSQ WSH Course, we can choose to specialise in the industry we want from this level onwards : WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B).

 

I am thinking of taking the WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B) from either SP or Ngee Ann next year.

 

Hope to hear some advice(s) on how tedious these WSQ Courses are, from those who have attended or are currently attening these courses.

The WSHOTC is equivalent to the WSQ Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health (Level C). You may enrol into Level D to further yourself in WSH.

from wad i recalled last time once i completed my SD in WSH in NP, our names are automatically inserted into the waiting lists once the course opens for intake..no further information on any criteria needed once u achieved the SD certification...hmmz..
