Do we need music license for the music to go with the montage?

Depending on the target and size of the audience and the location, it is not necessary to get a license. Most peeps would attach a disclaimer before/after/during the presentation.

or alternatively, you can bring along the CD from where you ripped the songs..

 

that's what I did for my wedding 2 mths back, paying for the license isnt exactly cheap either..80 bucks or something

depend on hotel too... why dont u check with your hotel's sale personnel? see what normally people do.. and seek advise for any alternative...

This regulation came about recently only, I think is last year or 2009.

All songs are governed by COPYRIGHTS by each of the respective recording labels.

 

My humble advise, get your video grapher to do it on your behalf. (Please kindly check if they posses a VALID licence) If not, then you LL have to pay for it.

 

The FINE is very hefty for YOU and the HOTEL involve.
