Hi all, am new to Cl 2. Got some stuff to ask u all experienced guys.

1. When pple say CBR 929/954 etc, what do they mean? Aren't they all 900cc CBRs?

2. K5, K6 etc, its talking abt the versions right? Is it only refer to GSXR600? Can it also mean the 1000s?

3. Hmm, how come Cl2 bikes all no main stand one ah? If i get my cl2 bike, can i get the shop to install a main stand? If yes, aga aga how much will it cost? Want a main stand for 2 reasons: less likely to topple ( my heart will break with the clip-on) and can sit properly on the bike when waiting for friends etc.

Thanks in advance!! :thumb:

u want a sportsbike just for the looks izzit? this last point sez a lot....

well then can just look around an find a sportsbike u like the looks of, no need bother the rest. the cbr600F series got main stand. other things to do with sportsbike performance.... if u actually wnt main stand then no need ask about performance liao......

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

929 is 2000-2001 model. It's exactly 929cc. But official designation is CBR900RRY. 954 is 2002-2004 model and it's exactly 954cc.

Kx is used by Suzuki to indicate different model years of the same model line. Used for it's sports bikes, Hyper sports (Hayabusa), Supermotard, Adventure Tourer (VStrom).

Sure class 2 bikes have mainstand. Blackbird, VFR, FJR, etc comes with mainstain. Sports bikes are built for razor sharp handling and track performance. Mainstain just adds weight and limits cornering clearance.

Dude, adding a mainstain to a Ducati 1098 is pure sacriledge....

4. Lastly, any general riding advice for Cl2 sportsbike? Handling, etc.

Keep your ego at home. Safe your speed and hard cornering for the tracks.

Past: KDX200, LC4 400, LC4 620, GSXR750WR

Present: CBR900RRY, Gas Gas EC250, XR250L, XR250RV, XR400 (motard-ed), NX650 Dominator

Hi guys

Mechwira: Ya i admit the looks plays a major part in the appeal. Who hasn't drooled over a nice 600cc/litre sportsbike? Hehe. Anyway i thought got mainstand better coz if drop v xin tong one mah. Not to mention unwanted cash-draining repairs....

Ulysses_sc: Thanks for clarifying my doubts about the bike models. Hmm, never thought the mainstand would interfere so much. Guess I'll stick with a sidestand then.

Can't agree more with ulysses_sc's last comment. Ride safe, everyone. Ride another day.

deck the bike with as many sliders as you can, that shd be the solution for a sportsbike rather than a main stand.
