Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

You can also get it from queensway, Nike call it Skull Cap, some call it head band. I had mine which i used it also during my regular jog which to absorb sweat flowing from my forehead into my eye. Those used for sport are of better material then those sold in bike shop.

1991 - 1992 = Yamaha RD125LC YPVS

1992 - 1993 = Suzuki GSXR 400 K

1993 - 1994 = Yamaha Vmax1200

1994 - 1995 = Honda Magna 750

1997 - 2002 = Honda ST11 Pan European

2002 - 2010 = BMW R1150GS

2010 - ------ = BMW R1200GS

Beach Road, near shop no. 173, there is a shop selling tons of pouches. They also sell dri-fit like material balacavla. $6. Pretty darn good.

1. Fitting- Doesn't flap around when the wind gets up

2. Thin- Cooling, lets your head breathe

3. Absorbent- Perspiration is really soaked up

4. Dries fast- nuff said.

I liked it so much i bought 5. One for each working day of the week. Sometimes i change it twice a day and wash both at night. Dries by the next morning. And because it's relatively cheap, you can afford to replace them from time to time.

Real balaclava?

Care to provide some landmark for the shop? Beach Rd is quite a stretch. "173 beach road" doesnt register on onemap.sg. Thanks much.

Hey mate,

Sorry about that. I meant the Beach Road army market. Next to shop 173. Walk up the main central stairs, rotate 180 degrees, to face the main road and walk to the end of the corridor, shop will be on the right. Hard to miss. It has a huge collection of pouches, straps and accessories.

Yes you can choose 2 different designs. One with 2 holes for your eyes and another with an oval opening for the area between your eyes and nose. Covers the whole head and all the way down to the neck. Similar to a diver's neoprene hood.

Ah... Beach Rd mkt... the NSboy's Mecca. Thanks for the info.

Those with 2 holes for eyes too extreme... take off helmet and everyone else thinks u are there to rob them. I once walked into a pizzeria with my ff helmet on to quickly collect my pizza that I ordered via phone. The woman there screamed and thought I was there to rob them! Joker, she.

=) don't mention it!

Hahaha, i know what you mean mate, when i don my balacavla (its the one with the oval opening) people give that weird suspicious look. Having said that, wearing one is a very good idea. Its easier to put your FF on, makes the ride quieter, filters out most of the dust and particles flying in your face with the visor up and helps prevent fogging.

Also looks damn cool. Sun visor covers the top of the face and the bottom is all black cause of the balacavla ;)

Actually, the advantage of the balaclava is the fact that you can fasten your chinstrap over it, rather than let the strap come into contact with your sweaty chin in this horrible climate here. Not just keeping the inside of the helmet nice and clean, but also keep the strap in good condition too... cos the inner cushions can be removed for washing, but the strap cannot (at least mine cant).

Cheers.
