Sorry about that. I meant the Beach Road army market. Next to shop 173. Walk up the main central stairs, rotate 180 degrees, to face the main road and walk to the end of the corridor, shop will be on the right. Hard to miss. It has a huge collection of pouches, straps and accessories.

 

Yes you can choose 2 different designs. One with 2 holes for your eyes and another with an oval opening for the area between your eyes and nose. Covers the whole head and all the way down to the neck. Similar to a diver's neoprene hood.

 

I have gone down to take a look. I only saw 2 kinds. One is the older one which is the fuzzy cotton glove material (used for 2b lessons) which must be damned bloody hot and itchy to wear under the helmet. The other is the $6 one which is available only in black. material is like what you described, soft but not very thin. Is this the one you are referring to?

 

Anyway, when I mentioned it is like a diver's neoprene hood, my wife gave me a ridiculous look and asked, how can u use it to dive when there isnt a hole for you to place the regulator into your mouth?!

 

She was right, for once.

Although it is very thin, the buff is rather troublesome to convert into a balaclava. The balaclava sold is easier to put on. More imptly, the extension to the neck meant the chin strap doesnt touch ur sweaty neck or chin. Much cleaner too.

motoworld has balaclava as well. 10 for 3.

 

can be worn multiple ways. i use it and find it quite ok, helmet not stinky compared to friend who doesnt wear it.

the design/colour of the buffs from motoworld a bit obiang though. but serves it purpose.

 

i bought mine from one of the advertisers here. the buffs are slightly longer, so it allows for the balaclava option.

After using both actual balaclava and buffs, I find that it is very useful to use the balaclava function. It covers your chin and at least your straps wont just absorb your sweat and stink up.

But... balaclava function quite hot for day riding... so it will be individual choice...
