HI Guys,

Question: My recent visit to PG, i manage to clear the rear tyre however i notice my front tyre still have about 2cm uncleared...btw i am a novice and this is my 2nd track visit..

What is the reason for this senario, was it because of my riding style or the suspension setting?? i am 92 kg btw.

Thanks!

Imho this is normal. Also depends on your front tyre profile. Tyre like dunlop q2 front tyre is very steep. You will need massive lean angle to reach the edge of the tyre.

Was just thinking the same..I'm just changed my tires to Michelin Pilot Power..thanks to some bendy roads in SG i managed to scrub off the tiny michelin man on the side wall on the rear tyre but the front still has 1 cm to go...

Ride fast..ride safe..don't crash...

One of the reason could be your riding style.

Just got to go faster and lower in the corners.

Not trying to put you down or what.. you ask a question.. I am giving you the straight answer.

The other possible reason is due to the profile of your front tyre.

IMO, the front tyres "chicken strips" is an indication of your cornering speed.

Whereby the rear 'strips" is an indication of your lean...

making sense of wad TS said based on this being his 2nd visit to the track.

your suspension settings and ride geometry don't really have to do much with 'chicken strips' reading..

your ride settings should be based on your wear pattern on the tyres.

The front strip is influenced more by your entry speed into the corner. The rear strip is influenced more by your exit speed. This is something I 'discovered' while fooling around on the track; if I brake later/lesser (i.e carry more speed into the corner), front strip shrinks. If I whack the throttle more on sighting the exit, rear chick strip shrinks. Riding posture also affects the ease at which you eliminate your front chicken strip. Once I attained the proper knee down posture, suddenly my strips disappear lol...was a lot more work when my posture was incorrect.

Just my 2 cents.
