Don't mind me asking bro, how did you jam your piston on your spark?

depend on how bad is the damage. if it just the piston/ring/camshaft most likely in 3 figures. if the block is damage too, chances will be a four figure sum. if you can get it into JB, it will be much cheaper. call up some shops to ask. planet is highly recommended.

as with crazydj, can we know how the problem occur to learn from it? spark is pretty tough bike to go with.

I feel that this kinda 4 stroke bikes, how to get piston jam? Only one cyclinder only. And if never top up oil means how long already never change oil? Half a year? I thought this kinda bike as long got oil inside can already?

I also kena leh.. I change oil at most once every 2 months. Normally once a month. I was rushing to school yesterday at max speed around 120+ on meter. Then it started to rain and i got off the expressway and found a bus stop to camp in.

After the rain, i tried to start my bike again then suddenly cannot! Engine totally no mods. But it's been 6 years and i haven't done any major servicing yet.. Maybe that might be the problem? Anyway bike is at planet now and was told might cost around 200.

some 135 owner told me their bike "eat" EO when it aged. maybe due to piston ring wear.

you be surprise how some owner abuse their bike. but most of the time 4strokes bike can survive on reasonably long OCI and seldom have engine problem maybe only after 5-6years. most of the piston jam case i heard is on 2stroke bike. but if the bike is badly neglected, i won't be surprise it start to fail when it aged.

i read of one spark135 online which travel 100,000km in 3years and still in amazing conditon. below is how the owner take care of his bike. a good guide for us which i taken from his post.

Bike : 3 years old .

WHEN NEW :

First 500km : speed constant at 65-70km/hour

Second 500km : speed constant at75-80km/hour

Third 500km : speed constant at 85-90km/hour

Fourth 500km : speed constant at 95-100km/per hour

Fifth 500km : speed constant at 105-110km/hour

Sixth 500km : speed constant at 115-120km/hour

NOW (after all the six 500kms ) speed till max out .

Presence Mileage now coming to 100K km

Average daily mileage : 140km

Average trip per day : 2 trips ( incl to & fro )

Average trip per week : 10 trips ( incl to & fro )

Average speed : 110 -140km per hour

Engine parts : All engine parts still stock including chain and sporket and wheels bearings and clutch plates ( touch wood )

Maintaince

Engine oil : Shell VSX & every 2K - 2.5K km per change

Sparks plugs : NGK & every 6K - 7.5 K km per change

Oil Filter : Original Yamaha oil filter & every 4K-5K km per change

Coolant : Original Yamaha Coolant & every 60K km per change

Air filter Air blow cleanning & every servicing time

Chain : Oiling every morning before journey with 3rd grade new engine oil ( cheapest one RM7-RM8 )

Tyre : Dunlop TT900 90/80 rear & every 7K - 8K km per change

Dunlop TT900 80/80 front & every 11K-13K km per change

When at traffic junction always shift gear to nuetral and jam at causeway switch off engine and slowly push bike coz no point with engine on when can't move more then 5ft at every one move .

Guess with all these procedures that I follwed that's why the LC135 is still going strong like Day Two , cannot be like Day one but still is in super good condition .No overhaul or whatever have been done .Engine block never been open before and also no oil leakage as well .

All,

Would appreciate your input and advise on the cost to repair piston jam for x1

? Just got this bike over a month and unfortunate it got piston jammed. Worry for the high cost though...I suspect could be low or no EO topup from previous owner when he mentioned all got serviced..anyone know the cost?
