The fuel line will bust when you change your spark plug, cos the fuel line is not long enough the injuctor metal will cut the fuel line, but this take a long time to happen and better change it b4 it bust cos if are you are on the road, might even caught a fire..i bust mine when i change my spark plug.

As for the cluth thing, the stock one is hollow ,so it will shear off, after some time about 20k on your milage.so just need to change it to a one whole piece one.

Both can get from FJT>

But if you buying second hand 929.i think pervious owner had them change laio.

But be careful when buying second habd bike,For honda bike engine should not be a problem.you only scare those electrical problem.

thank you very much for the useful information...

I think a 3year old bike isnt that bad compared to a 5 or 6 year old bike....

where u usually do ur bike?

overhual is pretty much depends on what thing is spoil on ur bike, usually, the price is always higher than u were quoted.

either the shop wanna eat u or is really too many things need to be replaced.

can always call up to ask like how much is usually charge for other ppl doing a overhual on 929 etc..

Bro, unless it really need to do overhaul.if not dont do it.

Cos even it 100k km on your milage .if you bike still give you the same respone.

I think better not to do overhaul.

And i want to know how your mech tune your FI??????

unless you have got a Power Commander.

Wat spark plug you change???

Posted

thinking of doing that.... the recent servicing happened when i brought my bike to do up the horn which was not responding then notice problem

so not touching it till something happens to the bike.....

din manage to see how he tune the FI.......

I think he didt tune the FI of your bike, unless you have a PC,he maybe did a valve

clearence.

Just to ask where you service your bike???Wat problem you are facing with your 929???i think honda engine wont give you much problem.might be your injector

giving you problem.Really dont think you need to do a overhaul.

i am not too sure wat 'tuning' he did....

THis was wat happened, i brought my bike to the shop telling him that my horn not working, so he checked my wires, cannot find out wats wrong. then he throttled my bike... said that my bike not smooth... (which is true, bike jerks at 2-3K RPM), so opened up the bike, then noticed that the one of the choke got separated from the main body (2nd from left), advised me to change....

that affected my plugs as well, so one new set went in (wanted to change them also liao), wasnt around to see how he 'tune' the bike....

that was it.... leaving the name of shop out... dun wanna mess things up also, but i do trust the shop.

BTW, akrapovic55, you mentioned that you got the ECU overwrite thingy, does it help in power or consumption???

The 929 has a very smooth delivery of power throughout the rpm, even at very high rpms. However, if I'm not wrong it is a characteristic of 929 to be a bit snatchy/jerky around that particular band of rpm you mentioned. There's nothing wrong. Just get use to it and it will be fine.

That performence speed chip ,will over write the air intake. And since you say you trust the bike shop, i believe the mech know wat he is doing.Hope your bike recover. But i still insist you bike dont need to do a overhaul.Dont mind we meet up.

hey found a ka ki liaozz.... can check out something...

i check wif others about my temperture they say its okie.. but i'm still puzzled why its so hot...

afternoon 100km/h on highway = 85+/- degree celsius

atfernoon 60km/h in housing estate with traffice lights = 95-102 degree celsius

night 100km/h on highway = 82+/- degree celsius

night 60km/h in housing estate with traffice lights = 95-100 degree celsius

often when i jus reach my carpark lot = 102 fan on

i constantly hit 102 in slow traffic till e fan came on... this happen even in e morning 6am when i was riding slowly..

jus dun understand why it can be so hot.. worried that e constant heat up will hurt e engine.. or maybe theres anyway to reduce normal operating temp..

is there anywhere wif good mech thats good enough to solve it... was thinking bout going boon siew to ask around also...

This is very "STANDARD". Our 954s r very hot bikes. I have been riding my "1st batch FU plate" 954 for 2 1/2 yrs and i hav the same temp reading throughout the 2 1/2yrs.

If u noticed, the fan always comes on at 100. Try 2 travel more on e-ways n avoid traffic lights so it wont be so hot.

I am using "NOS radiator addition", sold at carrefour suntec. It brings the temp down 2 ard 77 during hot afternoons on e-ways. At 2nd-link high speed n rpm ard 72. For better results, change ur coolant altogether. Also if ur budget permits, try 2 put on a knn filter for faster n colder air-intake.

Hope it helps u as it helped me. R ur balls cool? Mine are......

Hallo all of U. Just read read thru the entire forum. Well...at bit of myself. I'm currently riding a CBR400 and will be enroling for class 2 this Thurs. If everything go on smoothly,I will be getting my class 2 in a month plus time.

I've always like the CBR series bike. And I'm targetting on a 929/954 for my next bike. And this few weeks,I already set off to different motortiam to search for 929/954. But very hard to find one esp the 954. Yup...saw a 929 laying at New Southern for $9800.

I know nuts abt bike. And I need help in buying bike. Need help in the sense in both the technical aspect and all those transfering...etc thing.

So finally, anyone out there selling their 929/954? Or do anyone here have any recommendation for 929/954? Thanks!!
