that is about 30km plus per trip? think you only need to refill every 2days for your journey. or get a pulsar which will last you about 700km for every full tank.

I heard a full tank pulsar can go kuala lumpur ..but my budget is few hundred since I'm a student

pulsar can make a 2 ways trip:)

stick with a wave then. alot of us is riding it. in term of getting spare parts and servicing, it is one of the cheapest bike to own. simple enough to do your own servicing to save more money.

pumping every 2-3days should not cause much of a problem. actually i do enjoy going to the petrol sation. lol.

Hi guys,I would like to ask why do you think my honda wave average fuel consumption increased to about 37km/l .

I used to heard it was about 45-50+km/l ..

Bike plate is FW ,about 9 years old.

No racing parts all were standard except equipped with Leo vince scoot pipe...

Mileage is about 99360.

I had only serviced carb about 3 days ago .As I had never service engine ,block before etc, would it due to that?Or issit already time to overhaul?or a problem on my carb and need to be replace?Or carb tuning?

I hope someone can help me on this as honda wave fuel consumption should be good and not as 37km/l..Thank you..

hmm ok ..but have you tried changing carb before? I noticed my Fuel consumption increased right after i installed my airbox back..

As far as i knew, bikes without airbox were the ones that make fuel consumption increase but mine is the opposite...:(

try setting your carb. without airbox maybe your bike is running way too lean.

for a 9years old bike unless you are planning or renewed your COE i don't think it is worthy to do a full overhaul.

does your bike burn engine oil? care to share how did you maintain your bike? how often to change oil/filter/air filter/spark plug etc?

Posted

spark plug about 2 engine oil chg once..roughly about 2 mths once...

air filter(the one inside airbox) just replaced...

engine oil chg about less than 1000km..abt 1 mth once..

Never did full service on engine, block etc before except carb...

I travel from cck to simei about 62km, about $2.50 petrol.

But i dare not risk to pump every 2 days because dunno why my tank i always pump when the needle almost empty, but pump till full only about 2.5litre

To ride on the road, You need skills,Stamina, or even luck.

But to be a good rider, you have to change with your environment, and adjust yourself to its rhythm.

Cultivate the confidence to face the different situations. Don't let yourself to be subdued by the environment :thumb:

I experienced the same thing with my wave.

I believe that the fuel gauge is not particularly accurate. If you notice, the rate of needle drop is faster between half to reserve than between full to half.

I rode on "reserve" before. Still can get 30km before got scared and went petrol station to pump.

got to pump 3.2litres :cheeky:

Goodee hor hot goodee... Mat witz sebastian! :p

If you count your kilometers before you ride, you will be safer and more accurate than looking at the wave fuel gauge. But in singapore you will hardly find anyone who will do this extra step before riding. I know in Singapore, with my riding style, FC is about 42km/l. So I calculate accordingly.

You will feel more confident when you ride knowing how many Km you can travel. You won't have that worried feeling when trying to reach the petrol station. I know that feeling because I would feel that way when my fuel gauge reach beyond the redline line.
