agreed..maxi scoot tyres are expensive..

my last sw i change rear only @ $220 and front @ $175 :(

of course a good ones la metzeler..hehe

Latest maxi scooter cost more than 20k, tires change $300-400.

Belt,rollers,clips 20000km change once about $400

FC 18-22km per litre

And the final drive with belt or chain.....

Like that might as well go fro 600cc supersport...More entertaining and maintenance much less.....I wonder what is the demand for it...

Its not about the thrill riding on maxi scooters.

Its the comfort, practicality and ease of use. Not forgetting decent speed as well.

But of course, if you want sports-bike handling, get a sports bike lorh. haha

I agreed with you on comfort and ease of use..

practicality? I am not sure whether you ride Cl2 sport bike before but I can tell based on the spec of the maxi scooter...You might be paying for super sport bikes maintenance...

To give an idea...Maybe just tear and wear items you need to spend more than a 1k per year, of course still depend on individual mileage per year...

If commute around 20000km per year then I think 1k for maintenance cannot be avoided...

Belt,rollers, clip $300-400

Tires $300-400

Final drive usually 2 years once about $300

Brake pads per set about $30-60 or so

FC about 18-22km per litre

Not to mentioned oil change, filter change etc...They needs 3l at least..and set aside maybe $80-more than 100 per oil change based fully syn oil..

Of course based on estimation of my tmax and the previous sport bikes I rode..

Further more, scooter parts are bloody hard to access, must remove most of the fairings before reaching parts to change. Sometimes for 1 small thing to change that takes 5 minutes have to take out and put back 1 hour for just the fairings ha ha.

Applies to the big cc ones lah. Haha

In my opinion, the option to pillion is the deciding factor. If i pillion very frequently, i would go for scooter or bikes that provides comfort seating for rider and pillion.

If i have to choose a sports bike such as R1 or a class 2b scooter for touring, i rather go for the 2b scooter. Carrying bags and pillon for touring is very tiring and kill all the fun.

I agreed with you...For touring one or both up might be a deciding factor for high maintenance maxi scooter...Maybe this kinda of maxi scooter belongs to performance class..

Or maybe give it a class of its own....Performance maxi scooter which is more than 50bhp....

Hmmm I will take a R1 anytime and try to coax the pillion and stay at home..whahhahaa

I think you pass by me at PIE towards changi last week when I ride home...Your scooter is very intimidating from my rear mirror...Trying to identify what model izzit and you zoom pass me...Cos I dont lane split if the traffic is moving around 6pm...

Wow! PCX go all the way to Thailand, that's incredible.

Too bad, I don't have the guts to do so with my 125cc scooter.

Go search for UK/ Aus reviews in English lah. Why so tedious to watch a video of another language?? Haha.

Anyways, the SRV850 tops out at 185kph, which is one of the fastest for a sports-maxi-scooter. But if you wanna play corner, forget about the SRV, cos it'll always scrap the side stand and it's really heavy. You're better off with the BMW C600Sports/ T-Max 530.

These days, maxi-scooters ain't about touring only. It must also be able to corner confidently, and have a balanced chassis. =D

This segment has moved on already! The standard has been raised!
