Those petrol station one can even whack until 14k rpm. So why not?

yeah, wack until 14k, blow a piston or a conrod.

Why not 2T is still 2T, you're not racing what.

because i heard petrol station 2T is kind of a lower grade of 2T. well i wanna take good care of the engine so don wanna feed it with lousy stuff. Anyway i bought from caltex station which i saw from the other threads is one of the better kind of 2T compared with other petrol stations. (since CNY 1st,2nd day no bike shops are open and my 2T is empty)

most of the semi-synthetic sold in petrol sation is FC rated which should be good enough. mobil extra 2t seem to have a newer version which is FD rated although you will still find alot of FC rated around. you can pick up a bottle of mobil 1 racing 2T which is an excellent oil from review oversea but not much esso station carry it.

for your records.. if you dun wack till red zone.. any 2T is fine.. but they "cloak" (filled) up your stomach faster as they are thicker.. *hard to burn off..

so just buy and use normally if you ever run out of 2T.. :)

maintain around 7k is fine.. but try not to go up 8.5 and above.. :)

Kindly read thru at least the intro section first before decide to post any comments.... thanks...

Please proceed to this website/web link if you guys have any technical issues on Kawasaki Kips/KR150, I'll update the 1st POST as and when there's a new question. Newbies questions on the top as well. :)

Went to a few esso and they sell the mobil 1 racing. but don dare buy. Don know good anot. like wad desmond say, i don want lousy 2T 1 fine day jam up my piston cus they are too thick and of lousy grade which don gives enough lub. well my max goes up to around 8k cus the engine will be too loud. i will scared and will automatically slow down. =x imagine PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA drag till 9k engine goes booms.

normally drag at 3rd gear cus i find it the most ideal gear to pick most speed

no need so scared lah. if u scared of high rev y buy a 2-stroke 150? juz get any semi-synth 2t and use, trust me unless previous owner really never ever change piston or something, ur bike will be fine.

High grade 2T only matters if you're racing, Castor 927? It's premix, more trouble than its worth. You mention taking care of your engine, there's no better way than to service it regularly, do top servicing once in a while. Thick 2T no lube well? Well if you didn't notice, the best 2T are premix ones and they have higher vicosity than injection ones. Yes harder to burn off or higher flashpoint or whatever the term is but that's why they are for high rev usage, I don't think you ride like a nutter everyday.

Good 2T is no good for everyday low rev use, waste of money. Just use normal Pennzoil Marine la, cheap, does its job.

Using better 2T isn't gonna help if you just leave it like that. Besides there's no faster way to spoil your engine by riding at the peak of your powerband everyday...other than accident.

As far as revs go, there's little purpose for you to go drag past the redline, chances are your power band is gonna peak at 8 or 9, high rev pipe maybe at 10, after that you're losing power...want more pick up, use bigger rear sprocket or hold throttle at 8k like that then release clutch, confirm fly.

Why do you guys say that premix is troublesome? You just pour into the tank after every fill up what...

wun boom de la.. lolx.. piston also wun jam because of using lower grade..

it only have more unburned 2T remains in your exhaust and you have to go and "burn" pipe..

Ratio must there, a lil more never mind but not too little. Cannot suka2 top up fuel, you must lug 2T everywhere you go. I forgot the ratio, 1:30? 1:35? Depends la. Too much you'll foul your plug, too little and your pistom seize if you're lucky, jam if you're not.

Top up $6 is like 3L of petrol, must fill in equivalent amount of 2T as well, cannot top up then just go like injection where as long 2T reservoir not empty can already. Hence must carry some sort of measurement everywhere you go, like those plastic cough syrup bottle. Some more if you go top up full tank, you must remember how much fuel is left in your tank, go by mileage if you want to know.

Anyway I don't like Mobile 1 racing, too expensive and no difference leh.

Maybe you guys, lifestyle different. I always pump petrol early in the morning 2 or 3am and make it a "just to top up petrol" session. Then just bring the 2T when you wanna top up that time ah. The the ratios, you see how many litres you pump, then mentally calculate then and there ah.

So lets say, 12L, your 2T is 400ml (assuming you are using a 1:30 ratio). So if you went to pump 6.75L, then you just need to top up 230ml ah. Just bring those 2T bottle with the measuring window at the side and pour from there.

But this is just me la. I know many of you guys are busy people and will say things like "very troublesome" and what not. These are the reasons why i did not get a 2T bike in the first place. Haha.

I cannot, I top up on the go. Just find any petrol station then top up. The mixing ratios isn't a problem, its just like making syruped drinks. Problem being forgetting to bring that measuring device.

One scenario is: wah petrol gonna finish, travelled further than expected, goes to pump station, top up, you know roughly how much is left based on mileage and how much you topped up, realises you didn't bring 2T, either use the one from pump station then realise there's no way you can measure...unless you know how many ml is one 2T bottle cap. Die. Mix until bike alot of smoke huhuhu.
