your parents will eventually find out when the driving school starts sending promotional letters, safety reminders, etc. When you buy a bike, lta, ntuc, etc will start sending letters to your house as well. Unless you wanna divert them to another address. And divert calls away too. Last time i hide my helmet in my helmet bag, my father always ask me what is that and i always tell him that i'm going to play ball. Haha. You cannot keep them overnight in the lockers, the instructors ever told me that they will clear out the lockers at the end of the day. You might wanna try asking the instructors whether they are willing to keep your helmet for you, although that is rather unheard of. Its going to be real troublesome for you but i think there's a way out for most of them. I don't think you will enjoy keeping up with the hassle. I think you should let your parents know if you plan to ride on the road for a long time, because you don't want them to find out the bad way. Can you imagine the worst case scenario? Also, if you are from a single child family, it might be harder to convince your parents. Different parents different reaction. Also remember, when you're talking to them about it, never ever lose control of your temper and voice no matter how frustrated you are with their replies. Good luck. :)

Dun wan parents to know. But dun wan to wear schools helmet. U can lug a helmet around but very inconvenient. Get a bandana to cober ur ears and ur head?

Best is to just take. Tell parents after u pass. Tell them u regard it as a survival skill. In future if no job, still can work as despatch

Took bike license out of purpose rather than love, like or passion, there's no way my parents are gonna get themselves a license much less a car and there's no way I'd be able to afford one soon, used to hate bikes because of the accident reports and parents being against it.

After riding I got hooked and found public transport annoying and viewed driving as boring. As far as public transport goes, I never looked at it again unless bopian, then I'll feel very uncomfortable in public transport. Then friend teach me the joys of cornering and riding like a madman.

get the license then tell your parents la.

thats what i did, and i got fooked up bad big time. but eventually they relented. cause i bought my bike already.

but still, can't hide forever. they ALWAYS know. call it parent's instinct.

This is quite typical silliness for all of us who didnt want parents to know... Firstly, u're talking 2B coz you want to ride. And you don't want the helmet to be seen? I mean think ahead, when you have a bike, how are you going to hide the bike?

I would suggest, go browse for a nice helmet (since u want a sports bike). Buy it and display it in your room to make sure your parents know. Once they start asking, then u hv a few months to try get them to accept it. That is good becoz once u hv ur 2B licence... you can buy a proper bike without fear.

took my 2b during NS with my allowance.

parents open letterbox, saw my RTT result slip.

i just say TP send me road safety pamphlet. (gotten my cl 3 1yr before)

after passed for a few years, i decided to get a bike, hide from all family members at first, then slowly 1 by 1, from closest to least close. 1st my 2nd sis, then my elder sis, then during a family chalet, i rode to the chalet, and told my mum i m riding.

whole family 'gang' up and didn't let my dad (the tiger know), but 3 mths after owning a bike, i got into a minor accident, fractured my thumb, my sisters n mom help me lie to dad saying i was not feeling well, fell down when alighting from bus.

now about 1 year of riding, my dad still doesnt know, i've rode passed him in the carpark before, he also dunno is me =X

at first, i hide by buying a super big bagpack (cuz FF helm), then try to sneak around, then i added a box, which makes everything super simple. to make sure ur family wun recognize u, wear a FF helm, and protective armour.

i dun plan to tell my dad, until he found out, dun wan un-necessary troubles.

hmm well in my opinion, just tell em straight up even b4 u enrolling.. its all about safety, get your parents approval. it wont hurt if u state your points on why u want take up bike and buy a bike. give them feasible reasons. listen to their points too, then argue with valid answer. Dont use "oh frend taking i also take can?"

im not giving any bad luck you or jinx you, but lets look at this scenario, one day u fall, or worst even when u taking the license itself u fall. falling down a bike is much worst then falling down a bicycle or slip. it leave you scar. So how are u gona answer to your parents?? worst are allowed to even answer to them when u already ................................ just my opinion..

haha. .aniways!! if u pass get x1r!!! HAHAHA!

My father strongly disapproves me of riding bike (and still does) but I still admitted to him while I was in Pract 1. At least he knows that I am riding better than keeping him in the dark cause should anything happen to me, he would definitely blame himself for being a irresponsible father.

just just just..buy a helmet when you're two years before the date you're going for your test, PSB approved, cheap cheap 50 can already..then parents who forbid descendants from biking would ask, is that a helmet in your hand, just say yes..and you're just hitching a ride from a kind friend..bring it in and out around 3-4 times a week..say that your friend is a safe rider that stays behind cars and do look out on what's happening behind..then soon..they'll see you still around not in hospital..so..they'll be more relax..i don't know, this works for me..my parents don't even give that face when i mention bikes on the road..waaa paa, this one 1300cc, fellalli don't even dare to race with him..he'll say..waa so big, siao ah..but please expect to fork out your own bills for your class 2b,2a and 2..and really ride safely..don't disappoint any one you know or worse, your loved ones..
