For bike saddles, I was just wondering, do people go and open it and take things from it? Thinking of getting it but worried about this point, any bros care to shed some light.

No doubt about it, some people do get the itchy agony to open the saddle bags and it ache their no to touch the stuff contain inside the bags. My advice is to get a lockable saddle bag but, it isn't 100% foolproof so, don't expect the stuff is going to be kept safely in the bags all the time.

PS: You could wire additional mercury switches to the saddle bag if you have an alarm installed on your motorcycle but, it is just another layer of security.

Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul.

Bro as a rule of thumb ---- dun keep anything that of valuable value to you in ur saddlebag. So far i have never encountered anything thats been stolen from my sidebox which is not locked before. Anyway nothing inside too. Years back when i was using saddlebag same nothing stolen cos nothing worth to steal inside.

so always clear or carry along your stuff inside your bag when ur r away. Theft is always lurking ard the corner. Dun be complacent bro.

thats my tips for u. :thumb:

Guys, I'm seriously contemplating getting the 400cc Boulevard at Looi's. They're asking $13,500 OTR.

Just want to ask the 400cc Boulevard riders here - is it a good ride? How is it after about 1 year + of riding it? Anyone sold theirs, and how is perceived resale value?

Thanks for any answers out there.

Thats a sweet looking bike. But if you are a person that changes your mind about bikes often, then don't buy a new bike. Get a used bike. Nothing lasts forever. Depreciation for a new bike is rather high. Expect at least 20% losses in the first year.

Look at this thread .. don't know if its still for sale. You can ask owner about the bike too.

Trade in with Loois, orignially bought it from Loois, you can see if it is still available, it was a bike I polish every week and well taken care, never dropped and service on time. Pampered it alot. Under bike cover since day one to protect it from direct contact with the sun.

You should be able to get it at a good price from Loois. All the best.

Went for a Honda VFR 800 ABS after getting Class 2. Thought of a bigger cruiser, but nothing at the moment out there that I like, the Boulevard was very nice ride, even today still miss it, something about shaft drive that makes it smoother ride, plus the lower CG is nicer and more comfortable the VFR is a little too high and already over wet surface almost slipped once when turning - never happened on the boulevard before.

Just my two cents, I would like a muscle cruiser like those 1200-1600 cc types but man the price on those are very way off my budget. My VFR is pre-owned 2006 model was selling at good price so grabbed it, the owner took good care of it.

Echelon,

I think your previous bike is still available at Loois. Just want to ask you, before I go down to have a look at it, did u add a backrest to it (or any other accessories)?

Would you happen to know where's a good place to get accessories for the Boulevard?

Cheers

I bought your bike from Loois! Great condition. Shame I didn't buy it from you directly though.

Grats on your boulevard 400 bro! Damn, i am envious!

Currently riding a suzuki intruder 125 (the younger brother of your ride). It's good but lacks some power at times. In all it is a good bike for singapore roads but when u wana head up Malaysia - tops 110km/hr.

I am definitely gonna get the boulv400 for my 2A. Anyone know the top speed for it yet? Doesnt have to be as fast as a sports bike... but so long as i can keep up with my riding group.. cos currently i am not the last riding in the group but the last to ARRIVE... haha

Cheers all!

And hell! boulv is a sweeeeet sleeeeeek ride! woohoo!

Chances are you will not hit pass 150kph on a flat road but think again, this is the only Class 2A cruiser you can find in the market with sport rims.

Congrats bro! Btw, Loois quoted you $13.5K for the new one, is it the grey colour one with the flame design?

Can't remember if it had a flame design, but yes, it was grey. I think the black looks a lot nicer though, but that's just my taste.

The shaft drive is something else, I must say. Very smooth and immediate response from throttle.

Thanks! Well, cruising speed at abt 120 km/h is definitely v comfortable, but as you know, it's a cruiser, so in that riding position at that speed you catch a lot of wind. I reckon 0 - 100 km/h is about 5 secs if u push it.

The amazing thing abt this bike is how quiet it is. When you're riding _slow_ it attracts quite a few stares from people wondering what bike that is.

Yea man.. Sports Rims.. Cool stuff

I find it really interesting when designers manage to blend a classic look with a modern one. I really like how the paint work was done, it draws attention to the exhausts and the front forks. Better take good care of your ride bro. That chrome really needs to shine out there.

Personally, I use a Diluted rim cleaner to wash my exhaust. After so I polish.

Cheers

The 400cc Boulevard is not fuel injected right? It's running on carb I tink.

It is fuel injected and the mileage is quiet awesome too. Very stable bike, really miss it, I think one day I will go back to cruisers, still love them over sportsbikes, world of difference.

Hmmm...I check Suzuki Japan website and it seems like it's running on carb. I know the 800 is running on fuel injection.

fuel injected.

Echelon... I'm the beneficiary of your great bike... can't complain.

Here's a pic of the boulevard together with a Triumph Rocket III (my neighbour's). His has SIX TIMES the displacement of my bike, but I feel the boulevard is smoother (i.e. the Rocket tends to jerk a bit and you need Mr Universe arms to ride it).
