is it profitable for handphone dealers to export phone to other countries? i know 'profit' is dependent on a lot of factors. however sometimes i see those handphone dealers buying so many sets of iphones, it makes me wonder what their lobang is.

Most of the export set goes to 3rd work country for resale, re use, or recycle parts for new mobile.

Ex - Honda CB400.

should be around $10-$15 per set. but might be more. it just that they need to do it in bulk in order to see an amount which is reasonable.

yup, f|ing got it right. i used to be in this biz, i know how much my supplier earns, i also know how much my exporter earns. but like you said, its dependent on several factors.

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

which means to say you must have the lobang if not you will go burst very soon?

True to a certain extent. Electronics prices fall faster than you and I can catch up with. I'm certainly not in this biz but from what I read above, it just means that you have to buy used phones in bulk(with your own capital), and after consolidating them together, export the phones overseas and earn the profit.

Sounds risky to me unless your biz is generally big.

Off topic a bit, how abt motorcycle export or car, anyone has this idea? They shud also be exported to 3rd world countries but profit shud be more decent i think.

The profit margin is actually way way higher for the opportunists. For eg. people who buy iphones in singapore to sell to neighbouring countries which didn't have the launch yet.
