I haven't claim a single cent but AIG dont want to insure me anymore

Hi fellow bikers,

 

Last year October, I had my first minor accident with a Malaysian biker. We exchanged infos and left the scene. Being cautious, I made police report and informed insurance company, which I went to my motor tiam at Alexandra and they brought me to another shop (call it insurance shop) a few alleys away to help me take photos, make report etc.

 

A few weeks later, got lawyer firm help me do the legal stuff to "chase" after the Malaysian biker's insurance. Somewhere around Jan/Feb, I received a "carbon-copy" letter from the lawyer firm to the Malaysian biker's insurance coy, asking for SGD4k++. So I just put it aside. Mid-March, I received a similar letter. It seems like no response from the Malaysia side. Nvm, I just let the lawyer firm settle.

 

This month, I need to renew my road tax and insurance already. Today, I called my motor tiam for the exact deadlines etc because I almost forgot all the procedures. To my surprise, the lady said AIG will not insure me anymore because I claimed 10k-20k from that accident. Huh? Wtf? I got this lawyer letters saying I'm doing claim on the other party and they haven't pay up. Definitely NOT the Malaysian claiming me back.

 

A lot of questions come to my mind. When I was filing report to my insurance company during October, only my motor tiam and the insurance shop go through my documents.

1) Did they claim the money for themselves? If not who else?

2) Then this month, I renew my insurance at another company like NTUC, I need to declare I claimed 10k-20k before BUT I GOT 0 CENT?

3) Will my premium become more expensive throughout ALL insurance coy?

 

Anyone familiar with the procedures can help??

If your insurance managed to claim 10k~20k from the other party, that means you won the case. You shouldn't be penalised right? Unless AIG means you are being claimed by the Malaysian bike of 10k~20k.

 

I think it better to clarify with AIG, lawyer firm and the shop helping with your claim.

Yes you will be notified by post from the insurance company.

call aig and talk to them personally. if they have a physical office, go down and talk better. thats why i dun let motor shop handle my own stuff, like insurance. they anyhow play play also we dunno. i rather settle myself.

seems like.. this malaysian is in the process of claiming 10k+ from my insurance coy. and theres nothing i can do already. sibei dulan

 

the accident was caused by him going at a higher speed, dangerously trying to cut through my path to exit the roundabout.

the distance left to brake when he cut into my lane is less than 2m

i banged him almost perpendicularly and due to his speed, he went up the curb, banged his chin into a flyover..

whereas i only slid for less than 10m inside the roundabout, suffered abrasions and bike scratches

 

think his injury more jialat, can be more convincing, more easy to peng roti prata.. fking dog..

Bro, do let me know what the outcome is. Me too had an accident and the 3rd party is claiming 3k from my insurance,it is not settled yet. But I am curiuous to know if they do manage to claim, how much my premium will increase. Mine is MSIG, but it is strange that they are refusing to renew your insurance. It would have been understandable if they just increased your premium.

I kena claim 3.5k before. Ncd all gone. Loading for 2 years. In that 2 years price more by 20% or 30% I forgot liao.. can still renew insurance though no problem. I'm under ntuc btw

If it is 20/30% then I have no worries as my insurance premium is only 163$ with 10% ncd. Another 50 or 100$ increase won't hurt me much.

from what i heard from my motor tiam, they say i got claimed too much that they dont wanna insure me..

don't know how they works la lol next time accident i sure take photos gao gao etc etc zz

Usually when your insurance coy claimed by other party especially that kind of amount, you would be informed.
