Hi I'll be suing back my Gas tank that had been left unused for abt 3years.

Does anyone have any idea if some kind of chemical treatment is required before filling up the tank with gasoline?

In your case, then fill up about 1 liter of the cheapest petrol, shake it well and pour away. Repeat this a few times, and your tank is good to go.

To be doubly sure install an inline fuel filter to trap any residue.

Thank you for the tips.. will do as advise.

Any other method worth trying?

If u can get xylene, hexane & toluene, mix the three chemicals together, & rinse the tank to get rid of wd40 & other oil residues.

Then its good to go.

Thanks! I'm also wondering if those guys done paint job will have and idea how to treat it?
