I know there are multiple people asking question here and there in sgbikeforum, I've read all those but it doesn't really answer me.

1) How much time you took to pass and how much in total? (for those who pass class 2b this year)

2) How hard is it to pass class 2b

3) Say... i wanna get my bike as soon as i finish my class 2b, how much money i need to prepare? 4k?5k? ( im thinking of getting a honda SP )

4) Is it better to pay in full cash or as much downpayment as i can? ( I'm struggling to work for my bike right now )

5) If it's full cash and why?

6) Can i hear some (Not common) pros and cons about honda sp? from anyone, if a honda sp owner will be better!

I've heard that it's better to pay full when buying, so i won't need to pay more for other insurances or something?

I've so much enquires and a desperate guy who wants to get his bike ASAP.

My friend say stand by 3k for bike, 2k for insurance. 5k? i mean the average i need to standby is how much and why..

Really hope to get some pro's advice thanks!

I'm under 31 .

1) How to answer this? You happy just spent more money do revision lor, it is up to yourself.

2) I can tell you difficult, the next person may tell you it is easy. If you are serious than go for it or not don't waste your time asking around.

3) Yes, 5k is enough.

4) Do what is within your limit. If you are rich then go ahead full cash.

5) Honda SP = 10 Years old fast computer that the ram spoils tomorrow, harddisk the next day, than power gone blah blah blah, owner tells you good cause they want to let go. The amount of 2T and fuel and maintenance is so high, save up some money for decent bike. My advice to you: Singapore Road = 60KPH, EXWay =90KPH, the bike top at 180-190KPH for 2B, very dangerous because is it light then you get ticket for speeding. If you are not whacking the bike that go get X1R, Spark, R15.

1 and 2 answer it varies on the person , some faster some slower,

3 > i think 5 k,

4> i think u are not read to own a bike yet , look at point 3

6 > dun get a honda sp (no matter what the person says that its condition is good ), the amt of u getting a new paintwork , full servicing of whatever spoil , and jus in case u kana accident and need to fork out more money

7> owning a bike , full case or installment is not a problem , its the hidden cost that u rack up

Thank you all..

Currently just book TP, going for my prac now already.

What is the cost of maintenance for say every 3 month of sp?

refill 2t.. and stuff like that?

Posted

refill 2t three months? ?

its more of once a week.

if u are as demon as me lar during my honda sp 150 pro arm days

i only use rock oil 2t

as many has mention, since u said it already hard enough for u to own a bike

u should stay away from 2t bikes. period! !

every 6 months u need to decarbon your exhaust system (which is illigal by the way) and to clean up your piston area (top overhaul)

gear oil change yearly

tyres 1.5 years

expect to meet in an accident as its quite a powerful bike. high top speed. very light. poor brakes.

I prefer full cash for Class 2B and Class 2A bikes, installments are like troublesome. Do you plan to upgrade? Honda SP insurance should be

I mean like in a phrase of 3 months, how much money have you spent on the bike alone - not including fuel , say st.. gear oil and etc.

@ Infinity, so what is the least amount money i need to prepare? 3k-4k? i know 5k is on a safe zone.

About.. 3.2K-3.5K minimum? There are a lot of recently-renewed-COE SPs so they should be priced at around 2K plus. As for your insurance, you should call up the companies and ask for a quotation. Bring a friend or some friends with you when you're likely to deal, to reduce the likelihood of getting cheated.

I appreciate your time to reply me, say I buy 2.5 k then one grand standby for

Maintenance ? Insurance one grand Or less right or more? Will give them a call before I buy

Haha its ok, when I was new, many people helped me. I'm still learning from people who are more experienced than me. Just sharing some love. I've never ridden an sp, but i've rode a kr for 1 year plus. Insurance depends on your age, gender, riding experience, model of the bike, and other factors that I cannot think of now. However, I have heard my peers saying that their insurance is about $800? If you're older, a female, have more riding experience, then your insurance will be cheaper. The insurance for sports bikes are usually higher compared to other types. To have 1 grand as a standby would be good, but you'll only need it if you're unfortunate enough to buy a problematic bike. So caveat emptor and good luck. :)
