wtfff how come all of you so mean trying to mind trick him say sp burn money etc. >.> got hate sp untill like that mah..

I know there are multiple people asking question here and there in sgbikeforum, I've read all those but it doesn't really answer me.

1) How much time you took to pass and how much in total? (for those who pass class 2b this year)

2) How hard is it to pass class 2b

3) Say... i wanna get my bike as soon as i finish my class 2b, how much money i need to prepare? 4k?5k? ( im thinking of getting a honda SP )

4) Is it better to pay in full cash or as much downpayment as i can? ( I'm struggling to work for my bike right now )

5) If it's full cash and why?

6) Can i hear some (Not common) pros and cons about honda sp? from anyone, if a honda sp owner will be better!

I've heard that it's better to pay full when buying, so i won't need to pay more for other insurances or something?

I've so much enquires and a desperate guy who wants to get his bike ASAP.

My friend say stand by 3k for bike, 2k for insurance. 5k? i mean the average i need to standby is how much and why..

Really hope to get some pro's advice thanks!

I'm under 31 .

1) Normally it will take 6 months to 9 months. depending on your learning speed, because its 2012 alot of thing changes. I took 7 month (with TP) even i rush prac 1 to 8 in a month. Cost wise (including revision which i went alot) including enrollment about $1.1k.

2)Depend on you.. some people just follow the flow, other people do wrong thing you follow, but actually you dont know that he did wrong. eg: inching out at slope...

3) I got my sp with amount less then $2k with insurance. I am also working my ass off to do repairs and stuff too but it seems like i am able to maintain my bike thou.. But $5k is more then enough. As long as you dont go and race or whack your engine everyday..

4 &5 ) For SP. i would suggest you better full cash.. i personally think SP instalment is stupid. SP already give problem you want instalment give you more problem? no right. I suggest you survey around forum for SP.. bike shop might sell a little bit more expensive.

6)Pros

-Fast and good horse power.. (if i am not wrong i think horse power is more then cbr 250) according to thailand forum

-A fairing bike that is handsome only for 2b

-If you like sport bike, SP is the cheapest insurance sport bike among KR and TZM

-Good cornering.

-Easy to maintain and fix. (Most mechanic knows how to do SP.. IMO, depend on how well you know him, buy a drink or chat with him.)

Cons

-Over heat easily at traffic jams.

-Insurance expensive and only NTUC accepts SP.

-Petrol eat quite alot, but i think its normal. Sport bike mah.. (220km - 250km per 10 Lit tank.) not including 2L reserve

-Fairing expensive if damage so must really take care

-Must de-carbonize exhaust (yes its illegal but thats normal. do it at malaysia)

-Must take care of 2T oil, depending on how much your 2t oil intake but definitely not finished in a week.. even I open alot, i everyday ride up and down at most can last up to 2 - 3 weeks.

-Exhaust smoke alot. But still depend your 2T oil you use and how much 2T intake you open of course more the better but not so much. (Good brand and expensive oil is good.. i used moutol 710 remove alot of exhaust smoke.)

-Engine oil must change 4T every month or 3000 - 4000km mileage

-And alot of stuff you must go service.. brake oil, coolent, gear box, clean carb, piston etc.

Burn $$ it is true, but for 2b new riders you and me you will enjoy riding it.. untill almost 1 year or 2 year most likely you get 2a, or maybe change to a smaller bike.. a better fuel consumption bike.. but thats next time right? everyone will want a first bike.. hehe

but if you understand a 2stroke bike and a 2 stroke lover then all these you know it should not be a problem.. unless you are totally NOT working and NO income and take SP. Then i say its a problem..

I read SP service manual alot.. you need to read it too..

P.S- Insurance quote you by how new is your license regardless of age.. Unless you no more P plate (over a year) and you are above age of 20 - 30 insurance will be extremely cheap. I am 19 I passed April, my insurance $1.1k

I don't need to show my bike here 'cus I don't have one.

last time i was like you. before i passed my 2b i already got a sp. i deeply regret getting it man.

it was problematic and old. the bike broke down on me a few times when i was riding halfway. i had to spend a sum of money to get it repaired. on top of that, insurance for p plate riding sp is so freaking expensive.

after repairing it, i sold it off and i got myself a spark. there was not much major problems and it served me well.

nowadays i think most of the sp are old and problematic. you should really reconsider your choice.

this is based on my unlucky personal experience

Overheat? 2b bike can overheat? Never hear before 2b bike overheat. Unless the rider never take care of his bike, never check coolant level. And that's not the bike problem already, it's the rider problem.

sp overheat. easy. at traffic jam. not traffic light... class 2a and 2 is sure hot la but SP old bike will spoil easy what. eh relax la

Wa kao... Which car or bike won't overheat in traffic jam? So many other vehicles engine running den the heat transfer from their vehicles to each others vehicles ma... Unless u going at 100km/hr in a traffic jam then won't overheat la... -.-

Actually i so far never hear before 2b bike overheat excluding cases where coolant leak, forget top up coolant, radiator spoil, EO too long no change but of coz the reasons above may happen to all bikes. But for Cls2 bikes, i ve heard of cases where bike is properly maintained but really hot weather + long traffic light and bike will shut down due to temp too high.

But 2b, 2a? Never hear such case before. Then again i'm not tat experienced. Just sharing tat overheating is quite a serious issue IF it is not due to poor maintainence... Ever hear of cars catch fire becoz of cloth or other weird components left inside engine or fuel tank, etc? If left alone mean engine goodbye... Normally a automobile should not Overheat.
