well try asking the liao jiaos here. i also noob so canont help u much. but my advice to you is to get someone experienced to help you. even if we tell you watch out for knocking sound, when u view the bike got knocking sound you also dunnoe how to identify.

see the fork whether is leaking oil and the suspension izzt hard or soft. ride one round and see got any wired sound at the same time test front and rear brake. and test all the gears while riding. see tyres izzt going to worn off. see brake pad. see steering cone. this is just basic stuffs to take note off. :smile:

make sure the signal all that working properly and the headlight and meter lights are bright bright !!!

 

ask the person show u inside the fuel tank to see if inside got rusty not.

 

if from bikeshop ask him if all original parts.

 

ask how many years left on COE. FS plate left 4 years.

 

ask road tax when finished. road tax costs 50 dollars.

 

ask how many owners and look for tell tale signs of a recent crash such as scratched or cracked fairing, forks that when compressed dun bounce back up smoothly, scratched handle bar or bent handle bar.

 

ask for as long a warranty as possible. and make the fellow promise u to change anything u want as long as is not u ownself accident or spoil one. i STRESS ON THIS. price 100 dollars more nvm. cause as long as u get the guy to promise u (best is in writing) then you can rest assured anything spoil within the month u can go back to him.

 

as long as you are not happy with the bike or the person selling u the bike is being difficult or avoids your questions.... remember that you can just WALK AWAY. dun commit yourself so easily. imagine u are a virgin and the bikeshops are predators with raging hormones. LOL !

sheng: i advice u to get from private owner, but of coz need someone with experience to check vibrations, sound, electronics, gear, etc. bike shop one most prob are all chui bikes. and make sure u define the warranty properly... like wat spchoo says.

If u got no frens riding SP, can't get experienced ppl to help u test the bike, just buy the bike then u will learn all the faults with the bike 1st hand. This way u will have a closer bond with ur bike and u will understand ur bike a little better.... But u need to have a deeper pocket for a bigger wallet la
