Petrol is a volatile substance, and its fumes easily ignited by static electricity. That's why metal containers are always used to store combustible liquids like petrol, as static electricity cannot build up.

 

Storing petrol in plastic containers pose two hazards. Petrol reacts with some plastics and causes them to deform (even the type of plastic used for "Lock & Lock" boxes, the kind advertised on TV), sometimes to the extent of creating a hole and allowing the petrol to leak out.

 

The other hazard is that some plastics tend to generate static electricity. You may encounter this when tearing the label off bottled drinks, or even with plastic bags. These small zaps of static electricity can make that petrol go BOOM.

 

The conclusion? It is not safe to store petrol in a plastic container. If there is really a need to and risk the potential hazards, use a chemical-resistant plastic container. Also fill it as full as possible, so there is less space for the extremely volatile fumes to build up.

take out the 2T pump means tht now u gotta manually pour in the 2T into the oil tank urself, hence the word PREmix.
