Just successfully DIY replace front brake pump + brake line and flush all the old brake fluid. If you haven't changed breakfluid more than 2 years, you guys should look into it. It's all rusty inside, sometimes you can't even open the brake line anymore due to the rust.

Tools:

size 8 spanner (for the bleed nipple on your brake caliper, this is where the brake fluid go out during flushing)

aquarium hose (30 cm length is enough)

empty jar (those decent size like Prego size)

Parts:

Brake hose (singapore brand, forgot the name) order through LAB, 70cm for front brake $70

Front brake pump from LAB $38

brake fluid from shell petrol station, enough to flush 2 bikes front and rear $9

No need to open a single fairing for the whole thing, quite straight forward operation. remember to cover your nearby painted surface with old towel or news paper, brake fluid is very nasty to paintwork.

Tested jam brake from 80km/h a few times last night and this morning, the tyre skidded. So the brake is quite successfully installed.

YAY!!

hehe, not about the money saving bro. I just found it very satisfying getting the result after DIY.

during DIY you can make sure your fairing or other delicate stuff not scratch or mishandled, and you kinda know your bike history up to each bolt and nut condition. (normal shop just plug in whatever bolt nut they can find, i felt super sian when they did that)

next project is to service front suspension..

cheers!

I share the same thinking s u bro. My air filter, eo chg, spark plug, tightening of chain n other simple stuffs all I hands on do myself. Lik wat u say too, I don lik them touch here there on my bike wif their hands dirty. When I go bk, I hav to wipe my bike again. V Sian when I c the dirty patch they left begin. Of course don expect them to svc each bike wif hands clean. Eventually their hands dirty again.

But diff, time consuming, impt n critical areas, still need their expertise to do. Looking at the way u hands on to svc yr bike urself, no sooner u can b a mechanic for SP yrself. Heehee. Well done. Keep it up!

You could ride around the day before with engine warmed up see if the bike smog the area when you rev. Otherwise, just set the intake to factory setting. Should never go wrong.

+1 on this, and additionaly try to go to pioneer inspection centre, near tuas. Mostly they do heavy trucks, easier to pass there.

Everything need more effort if you want things to happen in your way.

hi, all sp riders. I am riding my 2nd hand sp for the past 13 years. Few days ago the bike having problems. Engine always stalled when it stopped at traffic red light. After that it got more serious. It was the wires shorted. There is no wire in singapore. The mechanic soldered and taped it. I found 1 on line store has 2 pcs. Just ordered 1. Those who have wires short circuited, no need to find. Even on line also very difficult to find it.

If NT jus sent inspectn c hw. If fail go 2nd inspectn also half price ma. Take note of 2 bros who hav replied. Tat may help too! Btw, wat 2T brand u used? I use Mobil 2T low smoke selling abt 11+ at essonmobil kiosks. So far my 13yo SP did NT fail any inspectn esp in white smoke. I did my inspectn at bukit Batok vicom. Nearby gt bike shop somewher oppo temple. If fail sent there chk lo.

Broos, any idea how much is the fine if kena NEA/HSA for too much of smoke?

Some forum say bet 70 -150max. Normally if fine for excessive smoke, will u b also req to send for inspectn again? Ah! U mus knw the conseq. Though inspectn pass, but on road gt LTA n NEA. If u ride regularly, it is more risky to get summon or attention. Unless u ride once twice per wk, then can gamble yr luck. Since inspectn uncle say smoky, it is really SMOKY. If u knw HW to tune the 2T intake, try reduce it la.

My front wheel keep move left and right, wobbling. What could be the problem??

Front wheel whobbly is quite straight forward. The 2 big screw n nut holding yr front wheel? Try tighten urself c how. 2 adjustable spanners will do the work. Mayb recently u chg Tyre mechanic nev tighten tight? Better chk hor. Whobbly wheel is v dangerous.

It is the main cable from the alternator which generate electricity. It supplies to the rectifier which charges the battery. It distributes to all the lighting. Which means it supplies to all parts using electricity. All riders riding stock bike and love this bike need to know. There are hardly any even though I searched on line.

btw, how to add picture.. cant find any button to upload.

Wah bro. It seems like a Main cable. V hard to find it unless go agent. Lucky yr mechanic able troubleshoot. Btw, did u do any modificatn to bike ie add high HID light bulb or use wrong fuse? How can the cable short? V surprising. Btw, b4 u find out its the main cable, any symptom yr fuses blow or bulb blow?

but if stationary the bike alot smoke but on the move not really much leh. Hais but the mech said must reach certain mileage then can tune back to normal. If tune back now will the piston jam easily? Until now i still haven try reach 100km/h scare jam. ):

I ok. Seldom c any SP riders anymore.

Any other participant? maybe somewhere on HDB MSCP.

we can start with simple things like changing engine oil and carbuerator setting, check/change spark plug, then go 1 small round to test the bike.

since SP only use 700ml eo and shop only sell 1 L, we can safe some money. lol

I am currently jetting my own carb and it serves me well.

mainjet :160

pilot jet :45

float: stock (non adjustable), the best one is the adjustable type

needle: add 1 spacer to raise the needle (still a bit lean at 4.5k RPM, yet to be adjusted to more fine tuning)

air screw: 2 turns out (yet to be adjusted to more fine tuning)

Not all bike must use the same setting, depends on your spark plug, air filter condition, reed valve and other mechanical condition. every bike is unique. ;)
