Just a random thought. Saw lots of cafe racers bike on google and was wondering what are the consequences if u make a cb400(PB1 or Ver S) to look like cafe racers bike. Which is changing of handle bars to a lower ones, flat out seats, plus totally chge of rear tail lights and fenders to those of CB400T(CB400 of the 1970's). What if ur caught by LTA or TP? coz i saw lots of RXK mod their bikes to cafe racer theme and havent heard any probs yet.

It's illegal.

Dear all,

I beg to differ, I'm riding an RXK flat out seats change, round rear tail light, have friends whom "Which is changing of handle bars to a lower ones, flat out seats, plus totally chge of rear tail lights and fenders.." including CB400 which has been "make-over" to retro version

We gone thru out annual inspection and pass. Provided there is no other illegalities (i.e. mud guard, lightings, non-smoky exhaust, working brakes and engine and frame tally with the records).

in short, as long we know what is illegal and wat is not illegal and what do the inspector look out for during inspection, we will fully comply.

You may want to check out our FB page "RX-Kakis" to inquire more of mods to RXK bikes.

cheers,

Inspection centres you may got that pass. Try ask LTA officers to escort you to Inspection Centre i doubt it will pass because their standard is very high.

the problem with vehicle modifications in singapore is that a lot of modders either dun check or dun care about modification rules, and the people who dun do modding also dun check these rules and simply tell everyone "if its not stock then its illegal!!!". and then they all complain LTA is a dictator that doesn allow people to do anything.

To TS, go one-motoring and check the list of modification rules. theres plenty you can do within these rules.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

You probably can't get a nice looking cafe racer if you followed the rules heehee.

imo LTA is a dictator, no aftermarket pipes and brakes because they make your bike unsafe...lanjiao.

no aftermarket pipes? i know of several legal models that can fit my bike. most of the time, its the distributor who doesn want to bother with the hassle of certification, preferring to let the customer buy and risk getting caught. distributors of yoshi, akra and remus send theirs for certification.

true..nver change your pipe unless it is certified...those whom understands the LTA requirements nver change their pipes..even if certified a "retro look" bike will nver install certified "yoshi, akra and remus".doesnt suits the look..kekez

He's talking CB400, not RXZ. Stock wise CB400 are using handlebars. As far as pipe goes, if you want to be legal but maintain the sound of illegal pipes, there's always seng kwang.

There isn't legal full systems for class 2 leh. End can only not might as well keep stock cuz the catalyser will make the bike sound stock even with an endcan.

sorry, when i mentioned aftermarket pipes, i was referring to modern bikes. if you're going to get a classic like the rxk as a hobby, you have to expect that it might be difficult to get parts, legal or otherwise.

Bros …. This is a sensitive question and therefore requires extreme discretion …. All I know is that the guidelines that LTA provide on the website is really ambiguous yet I’ve heard of Harley riders getting fined for simply changing the position of their mirrors …. The guidelines however do state that mods to pipes, engine and chassis are a definite NO but handlebars and other accessories are not mentioned anywhere… I just wanted a unique looking retro bike but it’s really hard to find one therefore I custom a new bike to make it look like so… to my knowledge, it does not affect the handling of the bike nor does it cause danger to anyone else… the fact that the bike is newer than a vintage bike means that it has better brakes and more durable chassis… I don’t even mod my pipes unlike some of the legal aftermarket pipes which are noisy as hell …. There were times when I wanted to question LTA on the guidelines but don’t have the knowledge nor the resources… I do know that things have been quiet for me so far and I wish for it to continue that way …. Pls understand that I’m not a criminal, just a bike enthusiast

Ãf I wanted to ride a stock bike, I would have rented one......"

Combining Yamaha's bulletproof reliability and the exciting sound, smell and performance of a two-stroke engine, the RX-135 is truly a legend in its own right.
