Hi, I will be getting a second hand 2B bike soon. And I am not really sure of the formalities when I have to do the Transfer of Ownership.

What are 'Electronic Service Agents'? And are they open during the weekends if I were to arrange a meeting with the bike owner of which i intend to buy?

Thanks

transfer is simple. You get your own insurance, go to LTA @ Sing ming drive, bring the owner also. You fill certain paperwork, wait for your turn in queue, and they'll transfer bike to ur name. You can pay the owner there itself. LTA cahrge 11$

LTA is open on saturday until 12 Noon. Dont need to go to any agents.

So should I deposit some amount of money to the seller first? Or draft up some sort of agreement?

It can be based on your mutual agreement with the seller, or u can just pay a small token to the seller for reserving the bike for u. I bought my bike the same way as yours. View, confirm, buy insurance, transfer ownership, pay the seller, ride the bike home.

So I could get insurance even if I don't have the bike under my name yet right? Since I will be doing transfer of ownership straight away after insurance...

Ring up any of the insurers/underwriters. You can purchase insurance for a vehicle for a future date, even if you do not own the vehicle.

Yes you can. You need to have valid insurance when you do the transfer.
