Got a question to ask u guys, because i still new to riding. I got a skipper and the battery keep failing me. The headlight, signal lights, tail light and electric start all fails even though i change new battery already... anyone have any idea what goin on in this 13 years old scooter? and how does battery works for bikes? will it charge while engine on? sorry if i asking idiotic questions, because i really have no one to turn to, to ask. thanks

Then the problem is mostly not your battery. Maybe the thing that charges your battery while you ride your bike is faulty. Think it's called a rectifier. Get it checked at a bikeshop lor...unless you know DIY :smile:

U riding skipper also? If u r, that great!! i always thought skipper is a very COLD scooter for a guy to ride, that y i riding..

 

alright man, after u mention that, i went to the web to find out more, so the problem could either be rectifier or voltage regulator. thanks bro for ur suggestion. anyway here is the link which i read , hope that other bikers will also get to know more of the electrical components of a bike. info on changing bike battery DIY

 

Anyway, apart from future scootering, any good bike shop for scooters? because i know the address but still dont know how to get to FS..

Thanks for the advice given. The problem lies on the recifier. After changing a second one... that cost $50.. the scooter works just fine. Thanks!
