got a solution for u. wad i did last time was take out my stock headers, emptied a whole bottle of degreaser(non-corrosive) from diy shop into my headers. then i used the hdb tap n blasted out water until the water from the headers comes out clean. after that go motodiam n borrow their blow gun n dry the inside. u will be amazed at the amount of carbon inside ur headers. clearing carbon by high revving cannot clear out everything.

Hi people, is it possible for the fc of a spec 1 to go up to 30km/litre? I was wondering if the way I calculated, was wrong.

30km/l = 540km full tank?!! wow

bro u go check again.. take your mileage(of your recent run) divided by the amount of petrol u pump till full tank(assuming u pumped full tank the previous run)

hmmm maybe if u run lean plus u do 80km/h at 2nd link, with some aid of gravity n lots of clutching in during downslopes to just glide thru:cheeky:

Ok my indicator said it was one bar, so I pumped abt 6 litres and I have travelled about 200km already. Now about 1-2 bar left. So im kinda puzzled.

my version R can go abt 26-27km/l which is much better than my last PB1 20km/L :giddy:

i heard Ver R is a faster bike in non-Vtec:) , but wat i know is Ver S has higher Milelage:P . mine Ver S max can clock 360 b4 resev, around 23km/L. i traver mostly on main road very little highway or long distance. lots of traffic light. is it ok for this kind of milelage?:giddy: cos your Ver R can traver 26-27 is very cool man:thumb:

Pb1 i also dont know why the fuel comsumption is quite poor.

I think Spec 1,2,3 fuel comsumption is much better than 20l/km.

My ver R very old already abt 11 yrs old already but still going strong :)

If u are traveling more on small rd for version s 22-23 should be ok one.

When i brought this bike from the last owner he also told me that this bike is really fuel saving :cheeky:

Hi guys,

Kinda desperate for help and your opinions here. Ive got a Vtec 1 that has very bad FC, roughly 250km before reserve.

Already done up my carb, washed + tune and changed all four float needle valves yet no change in FC. Still bad as ever. Its very sickening as much $$ has been spent and yet not even a little improvement.

I went down to several bikeshops, one told me to do a top overhaul and quoted me a price of roughly $1k (change of all piston rings + piston etc etc)

$1k is pretty ridiculous in my opinion isnt it?

Another mech from another shop tried to convince me that its my carb thats out of tune, and wanted me to 'try' his services at his shop, under my expense of course.

Hell, I've got 100k on my ODO already. Is my engine really worn out or is there still some hope by getting my carb tuned again? And is a valve clearance gona be of any help? Sigh.....
