mine vtec3 seldom open vtec. normally change gear 1st at 4k 2nd at 4.5k den the rest all at 5k. cruise at 5-6k. fc = 21 +-

May I seek yr knowing whether is there any effect on vtec opening and the level of engine oil top up?

 

As for fuel consumption for S4, IMO is that it is very trivial as compared to the trouble of "fuel consumption" burning away in the brain due to over mathematic on this trivial aspect. It will probably land you with more bigger medical bill later...just enjoy the throttling effect, 24-36-24 perfect figure and wind breeze during the journey towards yr every destination of ultimate bliss...

i do not know much abt the science of engines etc.... but i do know that the fuel consumption on my version s improves after i put in 2 pairs of it into my fuel tank.... everthing being the same, my fuel consumption improves from abt 20km/l to 24km/l now, after using it for half a year...

hi, not sure whether is there any thread for this f.c thingy. jus curious, my full tank can onli go up to about 230-250km or worst about 220km b4 reserve... with a yoshi fire spec... is tt normal? cos i heard from friend it can at least go up to 280-290km... is tt possible? or is there something i need to do to get the best F.C for my super4?

 

-riding speed is at about 80-90km/hr(about 5.5rpm)

-nv play pick up

-nv rev alot

Max i try is 300+km.... usually pump ard 260~280km....

my spec1, firespec end can and 4-1 header n jetkit.. Usually only around 310km or + then reserve. sometimes can be even 340km....

n my usual speed is around 110km....

 

u better go get your bike check.. tires, chain, sprocket wear and tear...

Lower gears use more petrol. Cos need burn more fuel to move off.

Cruising require less petrol consumsion

 

If ride a short distance (eg.nearby workplace), FC will be lower than average.

X-1R is bloody good but I can't say much of those that's from other source other than what I provide. You are missing something great.

 

Talking about valve clearance adjustment, S4 do not run with rocker arms that need tappet adjustment, its using "shims"..no loud continous "tick tick" sound, means nothing is breaking..don't disturb it..there is nothing to do with it. In short, there is nothing to do for an S4 with regards to valve clearance unless you want to change shims for nothing and its not cheap process.

ok, i will try x-1r next time. recently find my throttle getting not so shiok liao. maybe need to adjust carb again. haha

 

btw, bryan, hmmm. I do expressway mainly. my house come out, expressway all the way to work. CCK to changi. to and fro.... seldom go small roads... so, maybe thats y better ba.. I used to use FP60 for a while, but dont feel alot of difference, so stopped using after a while.

i not sure why but if u really pump full i dont mean like v-power lah cause burn fast mah.if like shell 95 i atless can clock 360-370.

wha piang...then mine is having a lot of prob la? now inside tank left about 1-2bar and it onli travel like 230km... what the.... is washing the carb very ex? how much and where to get the best deal? prob west side... beside wash carb wad else can be done? cos this spec 1 i juz bought and dunno whether wads wrong.... am quite pissed with the current shop who sold me this bike....
