  1. 1. Which Riding Jacket Do You Prefer?

Just like to find out how many of us riders out there actually ride with proper protection. Less talking about riding boots, gloves, and helmets. I think a jacket is a basic gear a rider can get to protect himself from the harsh weather and from a fall.

Cheers! And ride safe!

I find that it's always better to ask this question BEFORE you buy it..... now that you've bought it, just make full use of it and enjoy it without wondering more about the price....

Bro you can check out LAB at Kelantan Lane. He has a wide range of riding jackets from Alpinestars to some mid range ones. Best if you got a budget so can work around it. Heard the most expensive range of Alpinestars is about 1k. which is of Goretex material.

hey dude,

you have to go to as many shops listed above as you can to try on the different products. I was fishing for an 'inexpensive' armoured jacket too but the more I read up and compared at the shops, the more I learned that 'get monkeys for peanuts' work both ways.....

I started looking for the $200 ones just like yourself. Thought they were ok, but then I tried on the ones that were priced twice as much and honestly felt that the quality was beyond comparison. I decided to save up more pennies to buy the higher quality one because I accepted 2 facts: 1) if I ever needed the protection, I wanted to have the best jacket I could afford, 2) I was probably not going to wear the $200 jacket as much because it didn't fit as well and the quality was not up to my expectation.

Then when I thought the hard part was over, it got hazier. I really wanted an AXXXXs jacket, but upon comparing to similarly priced products (region of $400-500), I realized I was paying for the brand name in some cases. ok as much as i like to watch motogp, I think SOME of those fukers are wwaayyy over-paid for their 'talents' (yeah i'm knocking that biaggi creep). And just like in every industry, there is a giant nike selling you sh*t and charging a bomb so that they can afford to deck out m. jordan.

But on the other hand, there are some companies who are emerging with really good products. the catch is that to maintain their niche and quality, they have to keep operations smaller (than the mnc), and because of that, the cost of their product is high.

SO! Do your homework and be honest to yourself, cause it's about YOUR money and YOUR health in the end.

good luck

let me hear you giggle like a convent girrrrllll!

yes, when it comes to jackets like many things:-

one cent money one cent goods, chinese translation please....

however there are some good brands which are super solid and lesser known than the usual Dainese, spyke, alpinestar, Kushitani, Nankai.........Texport, Rev'it and Clover also make very solid riding gear.

I got my leather jacket in India.. cost US$100.

But bought the wrong material, mine is the stiff type, should have bought the softer type...
