Preserve Battery life.

Hi does anyone know what should be done to preserve the battery life of a scooter as I might be riding it once in a week or sometime 2 weeks. Btw I'm riding a X8. Thanks!

If you seldom ride the bike ,to preserve the battery life you can removed the negative terminal. This will prolong your battery life. There is no more continuity to battery. By the way all kinds of battery there is a discharging time frame depending the type of batteries....If it is troublesome to remove the battery u can install a battery master switch.

agree wif taking off the negative cable. should be able to tahan. as long as its not so troublesome to do so. some more scooter. if flat, good luck.

keep it on charge all the time. there are some chargers that can trickle charge. u can keep it on all the time. will also prolong the life of the battery.

As I'm gg to be away for 2 weeks, I'm gonna try to disengage the negative cable and see how it fair when I'm back...

Just an update that my bike manage to start sittings still for 2weeks after a few crank.. Thanks for the sound advise. U know who u r.. Cheers!

Hi all, i was away for a week, and disengaged the negative. Bike can start normally but the IU dead. Cost wise its more exp than the battery. Any better idea?

Bring it to an inspection center to check whether the IU is truly dead or problem with the wiring first?

 

If your IU really dead, you got no choice but to buy another one, or ask shop if they have second hand IU which is cheaper.
