Does road revision include circuit also?

Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

Yep, include. Normally when I have the whole day free, I book two road revisions, three circuits. Spend quite a lot but hey, it's worth it.

Class 2B - 171013

Class 2A - 05012015

Momo (Yamaha Fino 115) - 21/10/13 to 16/01/2015

SYM Maxsym 400i - 16/01/2015 - Present

Yeah, it's worth it. I failed my first TP I think because of my helmet...cos got a lot of stickers on it, like a Beng helmet, so I think instructor fail me. 2nd time I take test, I wear normal helmet, just passed lol :D

Haiz in the end I booked another TP on the 19 February. Totally no confidence that I will pass. I passed my class 3 on the first time why I suck so much on bike...

Dun lose heart. I took 3 tries to pass my class 3, and I never once thought of giving up. You passed on ur first try! Never ever give up on 2B.

One the date of my 2B TP, I met a guy who was on his 8th 2B TP. Can u imagine how much disappointment he had to go through? His hard work paid off and he passed that day.

We all get there one day. It's not a question of "if", its a question of "when".

A Journey of a Thousand Revs Begins with the First Gear Change...

i am constantly learning new things even after all this time. new things i learned on weds...

- if you shift to second gear in the figure of 8 course and keep your left foot under the gear lever it is an immediate failure. never knew that, thought its just incorrect posture

- when you exit CDC for the road test, you "MAY" inch forward at the stop line if necessary (i.e. truck or something obstructing your view).

- if you are not in the center of the filter lane and a car decides to squeeze past you on the left or right, you will be penalized for incorrect positioning!

A question - How do you all adjust your motorcycle mirrors? Is it the same as adjusting the side mirrors of a car, where you should be seeing at least half of the vehicle portion?

I see some comments on leaning. Don't have the wrong idea that body leaning on your bike is turning the bike. I used to have that misconception till I learnt about "counter-steering".

Trust me you watch this simple video you will understand how it's done;

It improved my handling ability when I understood the physics of a turn.

Just sharing some helpful info for those having problems with slalom and fig 8 and general turning.

Btw I no longer go to CDC after the orientation because I enrolled into SSDC. It took me 4 wks to finish all my lessons in SSDC; something I probably won't be able to achieve in CDC (no offence). SSDC seems to have more slots. Also I didn't have problems in road lessons as I have been driving (class 3) regularly on the road for the past 9 years.

They have many slots..but not THAT many. Some lessons are not as frequently available as others. Even if you pass 1 time for every lesson, 4 weeks is still pretty unbelievable :\

I agree that countersteer is massively important on the roads. A rider will never be able to handle a large bike properly without learning countersteer. Leaning does absolutely nothing - it's the handlebars that do all the work, and even when people successfully steer into a turn by leaning, the reason the bike turns is because when they lean, their hands are subconsciously countersteering.

However, there is a reason why countersteer is not taught in school. Actively trying to apply countersteer at low speeds in the circuit is counterproductive and can lead to a crash.

Countersteer works by removing support from one side of the bike so that it collapses inwards into the direction of the turn. At low speeds, the gyroscopic effect isn't strong enough to keep your bike upright when it loses balance from the countersteer, and your bike will simply collapse from the loss of balance. In the circuit, students naturally tend to subconsciously countersteer just enough, and that's really what they need for the obstacles. Actively teaching countersteer in the circuit is an instance where too much information can be dangerous.

Many years ago I did it in 4 weeks as well. Definitely achievable. Sometimes I'd fail the first two lessons of the day, then pass the third. Next day come back, do the next module. Fail? Same day can retest twice or thrice. No problem. You could theoretically clear all pracs in 2 weeks if you were hardcore enough.

congrats on passing your prac 8.

sometimes the waiting time can be longer or shorter, about 2 months on average.

make your wait worthwhile, go pass it on the first try!

Just passed my practical 8, TP is in early march.

If I were to fail my TP (touch wood), will I still have to wait 2 months again for the next TP?

Go back revision often bro..

The more used you are to handling their bike, the better..

good to hear that. and SSDC has better instructor to student ratio + less much less waiting time when doing courses.

Of course you get to wait again, I'm speaking from experience. :)
