Whatever it is, ATI or nVidia....

 

Never buy anything with the 2nd digit below 8... 7800, x800, or etc....

They're all the cut down crap graphics core.

 

Invest more and get a decent GPU with 256bit architecture and more pipelines.

ai..think my pc down liao.. always using my laptop then gaming cpu left to dust to take over..now switch on lag like %^&* jeez I wonder whats wrong :weep: virus ? or some seniors can help?

the graphic card in a laptop can change to a better one...

 

If can.. i wouldn't mind spending the money to upgrade....

 

I am into video editing... and this really eats into the memory...

 

my laptop is so freaking slow and hangs easily when editing and rendering the end product...

 

wonder what can be done...

The graphics chip in a notebook is built onto the motherboard so it can't be replaced.

 

Other than attempting to marginally improve your notebook's performance by feeding it RAM of bigger capacities, there isn't much choice but to buy a more powerful notebook.

Video-editing does not require a high-end 3D adapter.

Those are more for gaming, or for 3D animation/rendering.

 

What you need is LOTS of RAM and and a better CPU/memory combo.

 

 

As for upgrading, Redbeacon has answered it for you.

Maybe 2GB RAM will do better.

 

But your processor should be sufficient though. C2Ds are remarkably powerful for encoding.

bro 2.0Ghz is T7200 not T5200. anyway, jus saw a gd offer by AAA for a hp C2D 1.83Ghz laptop, gng for 1.5 but no OS & the ram & GFX card sucks

I couldn't buy anything during mar IT because.. i working part time lor. anyway, fyi my part time job boss told me that the next coming IT will be in smaller scale, like 1 or 2 floors nia so i think dont expect much bargains.
