awww... so the hp stated at the yamaha website is incorrect.:dozed:

 

150HP is measured at the crank. At the wheel, it should be around 130HP or so. Give or take some errors, ambient/climate/atmospheric conditions, manufacturing tolerances, and the dyno's calibration... you can plus or minus of some more.

Backfiring.

 

Hi, anyone you guys encounter your Fazer backfiring? Btw, mine is a Gen 1.

 

Wats the likely cause?

My bike was untouched for 12 hour, then when I started it at night, 'pop!!!' it goes.

of of many2 factors is :

 

1 or more plugs cannot make it already...might be cause haven't change for some time. encountered it during my gixxer time. do check ure plugs 1st later on.

hi all, will be collecting my FZ1N next week.

I read about one thing regarding removal EXUP, what are the pros and cons??

 

It is said the EXUP helps to create back pressure for the bike so that it wont lose too much low end. Some prefers to leave the EXUP in place.

 

Some prefers to have the EXUP removed so the exhuast system will have a "straight thru" even though it is not really the case with a aftermarket pipe that is street legal.

 

Other gurus, kindly correct me if i am wrong. Newbie talking...

Yammies put in lot of R&D into EXUP, why want to remove something that works? If your ride is done mostly on sg roads, forget about removing it, you will regret it...
