Hi guys how u feel about the power comparison between XJ6 and FZ6?

XJ6

Maximum power: 57.0 kW (78 PS) @ 10,000 rpm

Maximum torque: 59.7 Nm (6.1 kg-m) @ 8,500 rpm

FZ6

Maximum power: 72.0 kW (98 PS) @ 12,000 rpm

Maximum torque: 63.1 Nm (6.4 kg-m) @ 10,000 rpm

*source http://www.yamaha-motor.co.uk/products/motorcycles/motorcycle_comparison_details.jsp?model=tcm%3A46-265513&model=tcm%3A46-254671&model=tcm%3A46-254672&model=tcm%3A46-280659

OK, I'm thinking....

Wah... XJ6 = weak man.... :D

But FZ6 also kinda disappointing... less than 100HP at the crank?? :pity:

And 63.1Nm at 10000 rpm?? Peak torque arrive quite late hor...

Well, I suppose the XJ6 is going to be sold as a mid-range bike, while the FZ6 probably cost a bit more.

Just that somehow, these 2 bikes are looks somewhat abit too alike.

Not really la. The older FZS600 had better torque than the FZ6. i had one of those for a year. Solid bike, though it felt weak after I rode a 1000cc for 2 yrs.

But the S2 FZ6 is still better than the 04 to 06 model. Those yrs model CMI.

cant agree more, 600 is a little under power for touring whereas 1000 will be a little too powderful for the small track at PG..or maybe he has been doing track at Sepang, than that a different story

I do feel tat for normal commuting in SG , the FZ6 is a great bike .

I tried riding my fren's FZ6 , n i found the handling less responsive as compared to the FZ1 .

lol. you would be suprised to see how much sliders can save your bike! just recently i parked my bike to get something from a shop, it was less than 20 mins, came back and found my bike lyin on its left. ccb. amazingly, it was resting on da slider. side stand broke, rear area[where the signals are] were bent. other than that, no other scratches or dents.

but.. on the other hand.. perhaps crash bars are a better choice.. gives a full protection on the engine.. :thumb:

i know HKL sells, but not sure for how much...

Actually, the 1000s are also good for track. Looking at weight difference these days, 1000s are at most 10 to 15kg heavier than 600s with a 50% power increase. And they are also very nimble.

The rest is up to the rider on how he applies the throttle and brakes to effectiveness.

And yes... PG is kinda small for 1000s. Sepang is good.

The FZ1 comes with better suspension setup as opposed to the FZ6, and its geometry is also more aggressive. That is why it feels like it handles better.

You mean 180/55 rear don't you!

120/70 is the front.

180/70.... erm... I dunno what bike uses something with a sidewall that thick. o_O :faint:

Anyway, can't compare sportbike and the Fazers. The FZ6 is really lacking in hardware, especially the chassis and suspension. Very weak there. The FZ1 still has a fully adjustable USD forks, and semi-adjustable rear.

tat was the Q's i ever asked.

lets cut it short,

we cant bring back any branded pipe that is avail distributir in sg.eg.akra,arrow,LV n arrow etc..

u can only get it from the locate distributor.

as for the other aftermarket brand like MIVV,devil's etc..u still need to hav a license...n this may cost u thousands for the license fee as per brand...

either u r someone who wanna run into business being as a distributor...or u r rich enuff to stick a $700 on ur head. :D

going 1 size down from the original specification is not a problem, but if you are going 1 size up from the original specification, you got to check for clearance of the rear fenders and swingarm

having a smaller size wheel will improves on your pickup and corners

have tried, if u import from other country, u need the local distributor chop stamp $cost about $300-500.(it may be more) * to make it for sillypore street legal. * and u add the shipping. it may be cheaper. but i doubt the distributor would stamp for u.

this is what i got from lv Italy o_O

Yes. A x/55 profile will have better curvature than a x/50 profile.

You can use a 180/55 for quicker turn in.

Or you can do what I did... go for a 190/55 for quicker turn in AND more contact patch when leaned over. But be warned, your seat height will raise about 1cm. :D

individual preference... :)

i prefer 180 coz it easier to bend down...less body strength. Easier to get up too...n cheaper...lolx.dunno lehl..i find it lighter...:cheeky:
