OIC ....

no wonder....

it look better wif the fat bar....?

for mi i juz wan to have a better quality bar (reduce vibration oso & etc)

but nt too affect the overall handling....

any pic of yr fat bar....?

Fatbar lookz cool, Rizoma have the set (clamps & bar) but price is steep. If the bar is longer than stock, then for sure the handling will be diff. For Gen2 FZ1, the design of the bat nkes the handling awkward. Neither comfy for long distant ride nor sharp for hard handling esp cornering... well, that FZ1 06 onwards. Thought mounting the mini 'Z' bar (pull back type). http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3117/2549182426_b06761da99.jpg?v=0

I'm sorry guys but any idea what's wrong?

Hong Leong say might be the immobilizer that's down. However shouldnt it be if the immobilizer that's down I can't even start my bike or my bike would shut off?

I can still ride around and the engine doesn't die off. The tachometer just hits zero and resets after 3 seconds. Then it jumps back up to the actual road speed i am at.

Any help appreciated as HL quoted me $300 plus to get the immobilizer fixed.

If HL can confirm with you that this is the sure porblem, get them to do up the defect.

The Gen 2 FZ is a tacky electronics bike. Not many shop can have 100% confident to troubleshoot the problems. Simply mech problem, normal can do up with ease. But if you onboard computer starts to give you 'signals', best to have the better equipped shop to do up.

May I know which are the preferred workshops fazerians here go to for maintenance? So far it looks like HKL and HL? I've not visited either of their service centres but can fazerians share their personal experience with either in terms of mech skill and service level? Thanks.

Hi guys, allow me to ask one question again here.....recently viewed a few FZ1, some owner feed back to me that Yamaha's fuel tank lock seal is not very good, if wash with pressure water water will seep inside, and i can see inside the lock also quite rusty due to water seepage, is it common problem? if so any way to fix it, thx......

any way to fix it? yes... do not use pressure wash on the gas cap. i coat a layer of grease on the inner ring to strengthen the seal. And always keep the tank full if possible.

My tank always full, dunno why..... :p

Y use a pressure wash on bike ? It does more harm than good . Protective sealants might be destroyed or damaged.

Any shop to recommend for electronics of Yamaha bikes?

The quote is up to $450 now. Change of immobilizer. Funny thing is. Even with the immobilizer being faulty, i can still start my bike and the bike's power doesn't cut while riding and when the errors pop out.

This is crazy man. how can something like that spoil so easily?

eh... check with u guys... whats the typical lifespan for a pair of BT021 tyres for FZ6? They used to last me 20000km on super 4. FZ 6 usually tyre wear out faster a bit? or no significant differences?

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

depend on how hard you ride...FZ 6 more powerful and heavier than S4.Tires Wear will be more.

Past rides are already history....

How come price went up? Any good reason why?

With regards on 'How come something like that spoil so easily?"

Even frame can crack liao, not to mention those of electronics. When electronics stuffs in good working condition, they are almost maintenance free, when they went bonking, it's a hell unleashed. Which I am abit worry when i got my Slow little FZ two years back.

Ihope someone can provide you some firm answer and your bike get well soon.

Electronic bits are inherently fragile.

Have you rode past any nuclear explosions lately? The EMP plays havoc on your electronics.
