checked dat too..no probs..checked wheels..checked suspension..checked bearings..duno wads wrongs..e onli ting remainin is e chain n spocket..

 

you can check your chain if it worn, it should not have too much free play when you pull at it from the rear spocket..meaning if you can lift or move the chain from the rear spockets it show that it is worn. on main stand rotate the wheel and watch the chain, if it rises and lower during rotation it will show that certain part of the chain has harden while certain part of the chain has stretched...time for a change

FJR no good... entry level for touring only... if i'm not wrong, only 5 gears... auto also have... go for better ones GTR, STX, etc etc... :D

 

anyway bro, ur butt pain pain & neck pain pain is becus u nvr ride more la... initial few long trips r like that de la... after u r seasoned, these pain pain here pain pain there will be no more... :thumb:

 

So its not the bike ah its the rider..haha!

agreed. That's how I was conned on the milage. Beware on those adverstisment stated in km but infact it's mile. Check the actual speedometer.

Nope. Actually it's very comfortable. I'm supprise the FZ1 are much hotter than the busa. But it's damn heavy.

FJR n STX both have 5 gears. GTR got 6. not sure about BMW K1300GT. FJR actually not bad lah. not that entry level. just that the bike got nothing much to offer us as end users. old technology liao. hope yamaha will do something to revamp the FJR in terms of engine performance n appearance.

 

n i do agree that the more one person ride, the pain n fatigue will b more or less, numbed. :D

busa is quite comfortable provided you got your siting posture right.if compare wrist numbness, it exists almost on every handle bar after long hours of gripping.but you can rest your whole upper body completely on the fuel tank when you feel tired.the feeling is just like hugging a big teddy bear. sport bike and road bike might not give you this advantage.i rode a busa to genting was not even tired as riding a fazer6 to malacca.proven to be a true sport tourer. yes, the heat is not scalding as fazers but is hell on the weight.GTr is also another fantastic bike to ride. damn hell fast and hard to beat on highway.want comfort and speed, get a gtr....

ticking sound u try to change the cam chain tensioner first. i had a loud ticking sound on my fz6 too and after changing the tensioner, sound was gone. at least thats a simple, more affordable part to replace. my mileage is 54000km btw. haven't gone for valve clearance and i doubt the prev owner had done any valve adjustments.[/QUOT

 

According to the shop, the ex owner had change the tensioner. I just hope to clarify with the ex owner.

there's a way to check if the tensioner's ok by using a screwdriver to check if the spring makes any noise when under tension. but i advise you to ask a mech to check for u. cos if you take out the tensioner and put it back a tooth of the cam chain different by some freak accident, you gonna have a hell of a problem.

How much to change the tensioner?

i change for $120 at unqiue. planet charges $125. i guess now the prices all like that, rise already :cry:

Listen to carefully dun sound like ticking sound. Sound like tappat like, that's why I suspect the valve clearence. The Hz goes along with the rpm, and I can hear it even while riding on highway. Sign.....

agree... never ever trust any bike shop... their objective is to be only one... business...

 

do your own checking to verify their statement...

 

if you are very wary of 2nd hand bikes, then don't buy 2nd hand bikes, get brand new... :)

last night turn-out was pretty bad... maybe due to these days weather... everyone seems to like to hid under the blankets... hahaha... some times, u will see like 3 to 5 tables full of fazerians & ex-fazerians... the parking area is like a showroom of fazers... hahaha... last night those you saw, mostly all are old birds... :)

 

but one thing good is that we have a lot of FCWs for that small bunch of folks of us! hahaha! :thumb:

 

anyway, so paiseh for not showing much attention to your conversation... cus was discussing abt recent event & upcoming trip in 1+ week time! hohoho! :D
