The IU that is installed on your bike, does it work only when u turn on the ignition or does it work even when ignition is off?

 

by right, even when ignition is off, your IU will work.

hey you guys know which shop can touch up paintwork? like say a 3cm radius circle of scrap off paint. roughly how much also.

tough luck looking for a shop that does. most will not do touch up, cause of the preparation work needed to get the surface prepared for spray paint, and they probably cant get the exact same colour. so probably fearing customers will complain of the obvious touchup, they will rather do full spray than touch up.

 

anyway, i see that you rode the sym gts200 before.. what year is it? considering to get 1 as transport..

Depends how you wired it. Usually wired direct to batt then it will always be on. If ur using the slim type this will drain ur batt everytime u crank ur engine. Get it wired to the ignition instead so it only turns on when when you switch on the ignition. But don't put the cashcard in when you do this cos it'll drain it too.

 

TBS, how much does it cost? How do we know its time for TBS

 

throttle sync ard $60 depending on the shop. Usually when you feel a lag between twisting the throttle and when the power kicks in. Usually do it annually regardless cos it's a really frightening thing to happen esp when ur getting out of a corner..hahaha

Err..not sure but FZ6 does not have an ABS version. Also it's discontinued. Replaced by FZ6R (totally different bike) and FZ8. Price fluctuates a lot these days so best if you go around the shops and ask for yourself.

FZ1S ABS is 20/21k+

FZ1N ABS is 19k+

 

That's Machine price. All ABS version cost 1-2k more that the Non-ABS version. Brand new price.

Second hand, check at the sales forum to see the market price. Probably 15k for a 5yr bike?

Btw, I have the following situation with my bike for some time already. I hope someone can give me some advice..

 

When i turn on ignition, my voltmeter reading is usually 12 or 12.1V. Sometimes when i didn't ride for a day, it can drop to 11.9 or even 11.8V when power on bike. I always scared cannot start bike when i see such low voltage. During cranking, the reading usually drops to below 11V, sometimes even less than 10V. During riding, the voltage readings fluctuate from 13 to 14.3V. The readings will keep changing, not stable one. Is this situation normal? What could be the prob? Magnetic coil gone?

 

I ride my bike everyday and battery has just been replaced abt 2 mths ago, and i've also charged my battery to the full in early Dec 2012. I'm not sure if voltmeter is wired directly to battery or not. Bike is 2.5 yrs old, mileage 20k km. Thanks for reading...help appreciated...

jus my 2cents..

 

Wire your IU to the ignition and see if the problem persists. I used to have an issue with batt draining until I changed the IU wiring. The prob went away.

 

Next check ur voltmeter. Cud be sometin simple like a loose wire or cud be the voltmeter itself.

 

BUT, if it remains, check ur battery and rectifier first then ur coil. New batt doesn't mean it can't fail. Change coil wud be meaningless if ur batt or rectifier is faulty.
