How much is your insurance, there is a minimum amount that they charge. I eve extended 7 days and paid $60+. Suggest you buy 1yr 2 months instead.

my axa insurance was 440 the first time..its expiring in june...need to extend till august end for road tax...they quote me 110..i asked if i can renew 1 yr instead..they say cannot..odd..

im thinking of renewing my insurance for the 2nd year while i enrol for class 2a. my plan is after getting my 2a licsence ard 2 months, maybe i wanna sell this bike. so for example if i use 2 months, will i get back insurance refund of 10 months?

the insurance company will refund partial amount.. and not forgetting some will have admin fees...etc. i think all insurance company got their way of calculating the balance.. but should be lesser than 10months.. Maybe u got to check with them for better details..

I'm still trying to complete my license...

But just goin around the forum just checking what kind of bike that will suit me...

Jus wondering thought, is the comet a good bike for beginners?

 

Reading through the past post, look like there are slight glitches or probs wit the bike, i was wondering issit a good bike for you guys? I wud be pillioning most of the time can the bike keep up wit traffic?? No need to be fast, just wanna keep up wit traffic. And is the bike easy to find second hand??

Am afraid only u can answer that question, are u into cruiser, sports, naked..etc? End of the day, get one that u like.. ppl say this good that good, but just not what i want..

Bikes sure have its fair share of wear and tear loh.. It has serve me well for the past 2 years+... Do bear in mind that this is a 125cc 4 stroke bike.. Its not that fast, but still enough to keep up with the traffic (unless the car floor the pedal loh)... Bike production is the dealer for hyosung bikes. But of cos, occasionally, u can find a comet at some bike shops..

True.. it is indeed rare to see a 250R, somemore a second hand one.. Too bad sports bike not my cuppa tea..

comet is one headturner of a bike..so many people have ask me wat bike dis is and how much cc etc...however like any bike problems will pop up if u ride bad and don't take care of it well..

 

i wud recommend a automatic scooter if u'r going to city very frequently..cause changing gears is a bit tiring in traffic...

hmmm..nowadays not much activity here...on sat changed bike chain and acceleration and smoothness of bike almost doubled.no more too much sound also..didn't know it wud make such a diff...definetly the best change i made for my bike till now..and it cost only 30 also...

I agree with the smoothness loh.. can really tell the diff after the change, somemore that time i change front, rear sprocket and chain.. Felling afterwards... priceless..

hmmm..and my bike prob again...fuel leak..fuel pump gasket or something has to replace..ban hong quotes 75...hmmm...anyone ever replaced this?

bros my rpm idle is around 4-5k after i skidded in the rain and bike shop isnt open tomorrow .. anyone can tell me what should i note if i diy the throttle cable.. will it solve?

Skid in the rain? Hope u and ur bike are both alrite...

 

I will advise u to wait till tmr to see if the problem persists.. I ever for no reason rpm shoot to 4~5k.. i park one side, adjust idling back to 1k++.

 

Once a very very blue moon, the idling might shoot up again, but mech also cannot explain why... weird..

 

Can i just ask what do u intend to do with the throttle cable? change it? or?

i tried to adjust the throttle cable see if it solve the idle rpm but it jus only adjust freeplay so didnt help much

thats a bit hard to answer.. cos i never use stock headlight before.. But my headlight till now.. i think blow 1~2 times a year? Given it cost about 5~9 dollars each for wear and tear.. is that normal?

 

Maybe the quality of the bulb plays a part? i remember when i first got my bike, the rear light last very long, but after i change once, it blow after a few months..

I have never tried doing it, but hey... the only limit is probably the creativity of the mech(money and time).....

i went down to bon hong work shop and the mech isnt so friendly there.. the air filter is 48 bucks and levers 18 bucks per side... i told the mech that my engine leaking oil then he said when hes free den got time to repair ask me come another day.. i was like wtf cos there no customer in the shop at all loh. Den went to my usual mech near my hse area he jus fix it and charge me 2 bucks only within 10mins..
