Oh ya btw i saw a yellow comet at jln pisang or jln kledek near north bridge road around 430pm today.. with a box.. appearance like nv clean for a few mths got stains.. who's is that? First time see a comet OTR other than mine..

i went down to bon hong work shop and the mech isnt so friendly there.. the air filter is 48 bucks and levers 18 bucks per side... i told the mech that my engine leaking oil then he said when hes free den got time to repair ask me come another day.. i was like wtf cos there no customer in the shop at all loh. Den went to my usual mech near my hse area he jus fix it and charge me 2 bucks only within 10mins..

 

hahaha... ops... sorry.. but couldnt help it.. and i tot i was the only they dun like... but i still think they like u more than me... last time i was quote $55 for the air filter.

 

btw, what did ur regular mech do that cost only $2? Which part of ur engine leaking huh?

haha the rubber that blocks the eo from dripping was loose.. mostly is yellow comets hvn seen other colours yet..

where is that mech who dared to fix the comet..i've tried lot of places and they all afraid to touch the bike,, and if i go ban hong they replace the whole part and charge like 50+ everytime...there is no repairing there...only replacing..

Hi crazyboi, did the mech just replace the o-ring seal? i got the same problem when I just got my bike and it was replaced FOC from a very old suzuki bike. Your mech has the lobang for the o-ring seal?

my eyes are open up the moment comet can use other bikes parts... wheres the o-ring seal..? Which suzuki bike is it?

I didn't see the model, but it looks like the suzuki GN250. The o-ring seal is the one at the oil drain plug(that the reason why engine oil is leaking). When I compare the comet to my sv650s, the engine placement looks similar. I also read somewhere that the suzuki sv650's engine is similar the the comet gt650 and interchangable.

last friday, on the way to work, suddenly bike like no power and jerking. max rpm ard 5K. neutral light going to die off alr, and signal no light. lucky reach work and bike die off. den can't start, no crank sound. i just changed my batt and rectifier 5 months ago sia. den after work, can push start, budden a few moments later, die off again. bo pian push to bike shop near work. he said magnetic coil spoil so batt and rectifier all condemn alr. so just now he called me total repair costs $541!!! rectifier $140, coil $235. mampos sia...

Do u trust that workshop? I mean... 140+235 = 375... what else was done?? Battery? If u trust them, i guess even if abit more ex also ok la...

 

And... that time i change my rectifier, shop was not able to get original hyosung.. so end up use yamaha one.. works fine.. Battery and rectifier total about 200++...

bro, i wud actually recommend ban hong for this...they should be cheaper than this...even though i hate telling this...but better call and ask first before doing anything...

changed a lot of things..

 

-rectifier original one $140

-magnetic coil $235

-batt $110

 

i even asked for receipt. the rest are EO, gasket, labour, spark plugs. i even called ban hon to check. last time i changed batt $95, rectifier i think last time i change 2nd hand one for $45 tats y now the rectifier and coil all melt alr. wanted to save a few bucks end up gotta pay for a new one. haiz... just now total i paid $550.

looks like u want to put a super4 mud cowling on comet...i don't think it will fit...cause it looked much bigger whenever i see in the s4..

Not sure if super 4 one can mod to fit... maybe bracket? or if u want unique, order from the richard hyosung..

Does motortiam take in hyosung bikes?? cos i went many shops and they dun sell hyosung bikes.. cos wondering what is the price if push a comet to a motordiam..

Riding a Hyosung RX125 here.. Can any of you recommend me a shop apart from ban hong which sells hyosung parts coz my fuel tank got crack at the bottom and i am planning to change it. Called ban hong and they quoted me 380 bucks and still have to wait for a week before the parts come.

Hmm.. same here for my comet last time.. Petrol leak...etc. Why pay 380 to change it? Parts of hyosung very hard to find.. unless u try online.. which might not be any cheaper.. I suggest u bring to bikeshop or some hardware shop for them to weld it... cheaper.. fast... outlook... not that good la...

Hi... u make me sound so old like that... hahaha... got to sell it off cos cannot own two bike at one time... and need money to fund new bike.. hehe.. but i will still read this thread here and there... so far, my sv400 ok, love the v-twin sound, touching up here and there.. but parts abit hard to find. Now still trying to get used to the monetary fact that i got to pump more often, servicing is more ex...
