Just chged my front spocket to 15t. Can i just turn the pilot screw to 2 1/2 turn first w/o bringing the jet-needle's eclip to 3rd slot n chging the main jet to #102? Thinking of purchasing the mainjet first then do the last two mods together, cos roy say its tedious.. izzit??

hey, i been turning my idling for sometime. when i turn up even till my staionary rpm is close to 2, as a few days pass, it will go down on it's own. why???

 

and as for the exhaust, it sounds nice fom 0km(stationary) till 40km/h. after that, the sound of the bike will sound very empty.. not nice... is there a way to improve it???

uncle stsoh.. i need advice on my bajaj again..since u more experience.

 

now i know sillypore road no need top speed. but if change to a better performance carb, with stock exhaust.. will it give me better performance??

 

reason iam goin to malaysia with work buddies and they all got big bikes and cars.. my top speed is 110k/hr.. i need to go a bit faster den that

Hey every1,

 

I have an update on the tapping/knocking sound of my RW.

 

Turns out that it's a timing problem. The engine is detonating. Ignition is happening too soon so I'm being robbed of power and it sounds bad because the valves are still open when the fuel ignites. It's in the shop now being fixed. This is the third time I've taken it in over the last month. I hope they fix it this time! :mad:

 

In the mean time I've been riding a loaner bike from them. It's last years 125cc model with the Moriwaki exhaust on it. The bike sounds great and it has more power than my 140cc model! I think that's because of 2 things. One, the timing isn't right and two, I think they've modded this one a bit.

 

I'll let you know how it's running when I get it back. When I get my RW back I'm thinking of getting a new exhaust. Looking in to the one from PyramidShop. I have to see if that one fits the 140cc engine. I love the carbon colored one! I'm also getting the K&N universal cone filter. Might change jet on carb as well.

 

I see that some people have been talking about boring the engines on their RW's. As I understand it there is a kit to upgrade to 185cc from 140cc. This kit includes a new cylinder head and piston and therefore no boring is required. It's illegal here as well but a few people have done it because you can't tell the difference when looking at it. I'm not sure if the the engine size stamp at the base of the head will say 185 when changed though...

 

By the way. How many people here are riding the 140cc model? Are the speeds that everyone seems to be getting on the 125cc model?

basically go one step up 4 carb setting, example:

1) one notch up on the jet-need's eclip slot.

2) one step 1/4 turn (-/+) on the pilot-screw.

enriching carb setting need more fresh air, remove inlet airbox n install k&n universal cone air-filter (u won't find one tat will fit bajaj, unless they have it).

 

one of your bajaj riding mate did something like removing a box or something in the exhaust system, maybe it will help (try ask him).

 

other thing else, u have to find out from ur bajaj riding mates.

i personally use rw as a hobby-cum-therapy, bcos plenty of time to kill.

until then ride safe, cos my ride also 110kph max.

 

a quick simple solution, take a seat in one of those big cars from ur friends.

another solution, lose some weight.

i did loose 15kg, pickup is fast now.

lose some weight.. now that is a very good idea.. but difficult for me :cheeky:

 

or mayb like u say take a car... but i wan to gain riding experience in johor. i will see how.. mayb for one of my fren to wait behind with me

btw.. bajaj pulsar still no k&n filter i tried searching for something near but no results. mayb i search poorly. our filter are rectangle type filters.

nono, i didn't realise the bike sounds bad. it's my gf. cause there is a long stetch of road infront of her house. so when exiting her carpark, i blast pass while she records down on video.(i ask her to la) and when i see the playback, i heard my bike sounds nice to worst....

 

btw, do u think there is any body in sillypore who have this kit??? and what extra + does the mori exhaust gives to the 125cc???? can sc_sixx pls explain further??

try do these first, adjustment of pilot-screw n the jet-needle's eclip (easy 5min job, i can do it 4 u).

mainjet job takes >30mins, dismantle/assemble from bike n replace jet.

from wat i have tested, without fouling the spark plug.

a good balance setup is pilot-screw @ 2 1/4 ~ 2 1/2 turn and jet-needle's eclip @ 3rd slot.

but u need to check the colour of ur spark plug to ensure tat it is not foul at the electrode tip n ground.

light grey to grey should be right carb setup (like the photo shown above).

remove the inner-outlet tube n install K&N air filter.

this will get u going fast n improve FC.

Just curious, but want to know if its true that the 05 RW is faster than the

new 06 RW in top end speed.

and if anyone can point me towards a good Fairing for a RW.

jagger, best u get another roadwin rider to ride past you on both his and your bike to see the difference. :smile:

Raden, honestly, no offence, but nobody's gonna but ur bike with tt price. irregardless of it's new or clean or look ready for race or wad ever, price matters.

 

kk, i think we all roadwins and ,maybe pulsars should jus meet up for relax session one day. really talk any thing bout our bike and really compare and check here check there.. that would be awesome...

I agree with lostjackal. You should see if you can get another RW to ride past you to hear the difference. It's possible that what you are hearing is normal.

 

Can you describe the sound it makes? Does it have a knocking, tapping or ticking sound?

 

As for the exhaust. It's an expensive upgrade. It sounds great and gives you an extra 10-15% more power when the engine is running optimal.

 

As for the cc upgrade kit... I spoke to the guys at the shop again and they tell me it is actually a bore kit. They machine the head on your engine and sleeve it. The 125 can go up to 150. The 150 (140cc really) can go up to 185cc. I'm thinking about doing it here but not for a little while. I'm waiting till the warranty runs out at least. BTW, we only get a 6 month warranty here!

 

As for my bike, the noise has been mostly taken care of. Got the bike back yesterday and it sounds a lot better. Still getting a slight knock/tap noise when giving it a lot of throttle (more than 75%) on hills but I'm hoping that will disappear soon. I'm almost at 1000km now.

Hey kewl, mine's near the Kaki Bukit area where there used to be a mosque on top of a knoll, 5 mins walk to McDonalds. I've also seen a black RW at blk 121 a couple of times. Wonder if it belongs to one of the ppl in this forum. Seems like RW is catching up in terms of numbers. :cheer: Had seen quite a few on the road, there's even one at SAFTI MI when i went for SAF day reherseal yesterday.

Been noticing that my rpms been acting up lately.....when i throttle from idle to abt 3k rpms seems slow but after 3k it just revs faster than even though i was steadily controlling the throttle.

 

Guess my servicing is due...P.S. my installments are finally OVER!!!:cheer:

I believe Uncle Soh's advertised a 165 cc bore kit previously in the forum? I think it was from performance motor.

 

Also, if anyone wanna get the K&N filter RC-2310, we may need to mass order. Try asking [email protected] (Vector One). My lobang only have K&n filters for major Honda models... So if anyone interested, please voice out. I believe we can persuade them to order if we can get at least 4 interested parties...
