i muz comments though rOadwin is not a fast bike..but is veri safety n stable bike.. =)

uncle soh is is correct that if u set to 1 psi higher, it that help fc a little but the downside is that you are losing traction area of ur tires i.e tyres will wear out faster and unevenly. So not recommended if you use the bike for dispatch or those who rides frequently during the hot afternoon.

Check the side of your chain guard for the recommended psi readings

Be careful of the rear brakes, they lock very easily. And no 4 stroke 125 cc bikes are fast

Hmm,,, 'Lasertec'....looks impressive,,,, Thanks for your recommendation stsoh,, I will consider Lasertec instead of ME-1...

My the way,,,, could I know how often do you change your bike chain&spocket ?

after about how many km mileage ??

My chain keep have 'tat ! tat' sound, when I go slow at 2nd or 3rd gear at about 20km/h,

at 1st, it is chain too loose, but after I go bike shop tighten up the chain, the 'tat tat' sound disappear,,, but appear again just after abt 2-3 weeks....?

May be it is time to change a new set of chain&spocket...

just to want to know normally after about how many km mileage do you replace your chain+spocket ? as I have not replaced before since I bought my roadwin last year...Sept,,,( and have use for about 20000km already ).

Guess the main gist of what he said was that its not compatible in size with the RW carbuerator.

lasertec replaces obsolete/older models ME-1, ME-33/55, ME-330/550 n perfect ME-99.

normally chain/sprockets will last 20,000~30,000 km.

it depends on how u ride the bike n maintenance of the chain.

let say u drag alot then the chain will stretch or if u don't spray chain-lub very 800~1000km, the chain/sprockets will worn out.

'tat ! tat' sound come from the chain hitting onto the swing-arm.

it means tat ur chain-slider has worn out n need replacement.

chain-slider is the rubber tat the chain glide over it.

it is mounted on the swing-arm, u can see it under the chain at the front section of the swing-arm.

how much does that chain slider cost? exactly where is it located at? i can't seem to find any chain slider under my bike.. i don't really know where the swing arm is.. please tell me more where i can find my chain slider.. i believe mine has worn out too..

i think the turbo thing is a rip off... it's suppose to act like a turbo ca=harger. it absorbs in air when u move using batt...(just like turbo charger;but tc is diff.)

once absorbs air, it will shoots air out from the back...(so it's like some one give ur bike a hard push)

you know y they say only 125cc? it's because bikes bigger than 125cc, has more power. thus the small energy fomr the push won't be felt. so, in conclusion, the turbo thingy is a rip off to ppl who r speed crazy. YEAH!!:nono:

bout tires, the ME-1 is good as in when wheel lock it won't skid, but i feel it's poor in rainny days, even wave tyres are better as in grip... i think i'm going to try the new laser tyres...

i belive most rw owners have issues with the chain going 'tat tat tat' when gearin down from gear 3 to gear 2, and from gear 2 to gear 1 only.

It only happens when:

- you fully or gradually release clutch handle and no throttle at all (closed throttle),

to counter the problem:

- u should at same time, release clutch handle slowly and throttle at that gear low rev range.

- buy a chain slider... i haven't try that out... and it did not come stock with my rw125 in 2004.

Hi,

To my knowledge about turbo chargers for cars, they actually pump air both from (1)outside air, and from the (2)end of the engine where burnt air/unburnt fuel meets the exhaust pipings and out thru the exhaust end..

with both (1) and (2) compressed in the turbo charger, the compressed air (it is very very hot air, and it will contain very very small amount of combustable vapour - from unburnt fuel) will be pumped into the engine to give it that 'boost'.

Thus during that process, the turbo charger will require a minimum volume of compressed air before it gets pumped into the engine, thus it will only boost the engine's torque/power at higher RPMs (more exhaust air is revved out from the engine..). therefore this part of the process is called the 'lag time' - lower range rpm no boost.

I hope im acurate as much as possible..

the turbo charger that is listed for 125cc engines only features (1) .. and not (2).. from my view it seems inefficent as it relies soley on battery to spool outside air and pump into the engine.. do note that there maybe a possibility that our OEM battries may not be able to cope such loads continuously.. i'll recommend a additional battery with another rectifier for the turbo charger.. it maybe fun.. anyone dare to have first blood for that turbo charger? i wanna know and see it in action before buying it..

oh yeah, i noticed that even if u get an optional additional battery with rectifier, there may not be any space under the seat comparment.. maybe mount it externally or... i got no idea.. anyone has the guts to try out that turbo charger?

PSI or psia is the American Engineering Unit for Pressure. Usually used in the states where they seldom use SI units in their measurements.

Kpa (kilo pascals) is the SI Unit.

1 psi is equivalent to 6.893 kPa.....haiz....exams are coming...so must remember all this crap. Also, you can order the K&N filters from Sporting Motors (distro in SG). Look for fatboy. All orders must be in quantities of 4.

Also try not to pump above more than +1 psi value on your tyres. Best to just follow the manufacturer's spec for this.

Hey ppl, I'm intending to change my rear brake pads coz its wearing out. Are there any brake pads you guys have to recommend. Currently my rear is those for super four ones. Quite good i feel so thinking of using it back. But i'm not sure of the model name though . Any shops to recommend for me to buy (coz cka only has the stock break pads) ?

Posted

correct! what mighty boo say is correct. da'am, turbo charger for cars is taking air infront and pumping out at the rear so that it will give the car an extra push.

the charger works the same. only a very weak one. it sucks air when u moving and pumps it out at the back. so that ur bike will have a push. only that, the (2) that mightyboo said gives the supreme power in turbo charger. in this case it's only (1). so it's still useless.

Hmmmm... I'm thinking of getting a RW. Gonna go down and take a look over at CKA HQ. Reading through maybe about 70+ to 90+ pages (It was tiring...), seems like stsoh is one of the more experience people here, alot of self testing. So maybe when I DO get the bike, I might need help too!

Most of you in the East side? I know there's a RW at my house, FZ plate, blue colour. After seeing the bike, straight away started research on RW, first time see. :cheeky:

Yeah. I'm going to try to convince my parents to get me a 1st hand one. And also because there'll be a chance of having lesser problems, or even problem free for maybe a year or 2? Hopefully at least. :cheeky:

Yeah. Its a whole new ball game. :cheeky:

I just came back from CKA HQ, went there to look, a 2nd hand Roadwin just came in, they haven't restored it back to original state, and the new Roadwin150 are really very nice. However, the price wise is kinda steep actually.

Then suddenlyyyyy... Saw a Daystar, with some super cool sprayjob. Felt quite a comfortable bike, nice Number plate no. Lol! And wasn't that expensive 2nd hand, was $3.6k (Mito price, so its affordable. :cheeky:) My father was more in favour of that, because cruisers LOOK safer, LOOK only. Although personally the Roadwin feels safer with that front/rear brake disc.

So I might most likely actually get a Daystar, need to read up more in their thread. Maybe you guys can fill more in on the Daystar as well.
