just my luck.. i was riding on the express way happily when my lever bolt and nut came out.... i could not change back to gear1 and engine stalled when i exited to Bukit Batok.. Luckily for me.. i was near bike shop.. so i push like mad to the bike shop.. the shop no spare lever bolt and nut so search like half hr till find one temp one... than he saw my visor spoil... 12 bucks for a change... but as soon as he told my visor out.. he found out no stock for my visor... AND HE COULD NOT PUT IT BACK!!!

So my friend mention he has a spare helmet.. go over to his house to take.. half way raining (I did not have a visor and it hurts like hell)

Anyone face left foot lever screw dropped out before??

I've checked.. my throttle no problem.. and its responsive to...

Fuel Not a problem,

Throttle not a problem,

Air Filter Not a problem,

But i think the brake is a problem... the makes squeey sound again.. but this time this squeezy sound like the the brake plate disk rubbing again something... haiz.... First sqeezy due to rear brake... now also rear brake...

The bike shop help me put in a new screw for the bike.. but.... i dun know why there is so much sound comming from my bike.. my rear brake, now something in my engine is rattling and worse of all.. when i switch to gear one... i think it hits something... like the brake hitting against the chain or something...

haiz...roadwin is so problematic....

wat do mean?

r u feeling tat pickup (acceleration) is slow?

if tat's the case, check the cam accelerator whether is set at max.

twist the throttle fully, u can see the accelerator cam lifted-up (see pic, right side of carb).

at full throttle, try lift the cam with your finger n feel for any free-play.

if yes, adjust the cable adjustment screw/lock nut till max.

do not overly adjust it, must give a tiny free-play.

this is to balance both cables of the throttle body valve n accelerator cam.

if still feels slow, then it is the bike tat is slow.

can't be help, u r getting faster.

change bike to either sport scooters, nsr sp or kips.

add-on:

how long is the airfilter been use?

suppose to change it every 20,000km, clogged airfilter will affect performance too.

i had excessive free play causing vibrations from the gear lever previously also.

went to HKL and the mech helped me add an additional washer, lubed it and tightened it.

i also had the problem with the squeky sound from the rear previously.

Uncle soh told me that might be some malfunction with the rear brake piston.

try squirting a bit of WD 40 there.

Didnt work for me but u can try.

Instead i went to bike shop to replace rear brake pads.

and problem was resolved.

HKL $15 with workmanship.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Anyway uncle soh, yesterday i encountered a problem.

Bike was in neutral but the green neutral light wasnt on.

Wasnt battery problem cos fuel gauge and horn were functioning.

Basically, couldnt start the bike unless i clutch in.

Its like some false '1st gear'

So went to bike shop mech said it was 'free switch' which is located just beside the front sprocket.

Replaced with a new one for $28 and now its working fine.

just wannna ask. What in the world is a free switch!?

Is that even the right term? what is its function beside indicating neutral?

yea... i had to switch back to castrol cos they didn't sell... anywhere in the west to recommend to buy engine oil...

I'll get my rear brake pad change, and do up my gear level...

hey, got this prob too.. but riding comet.. similar right.. usually, i just put neutral i go by feeling lor, the neutral light so unreliable.. :sian:

niway, is it really common, the false 1st gear thingy.. few times kena already.. feel like neutral position cos can push the bike around but cant start until i clutch in..

Oooo.... Falling in lov with this bike already.

Now just waiting for TP in Oct o_O

In anycase, as I read on the thread, the poblems of the bike start to surface (knocking sounds here and there, funny noise from brakes) but other than that, the bike is safe and quite mechanically sound, right?

That lever to drop off was a freaky incident from spacerevo...

I'm seriously ocnsidering this bike, anyone know of anyone else who might be selling off his Roadwin in the next 2-3 months? Heard that its $9k brand new OTR (thereabouts), whow much is it, roughly in the 2nd hand market?

hahah... just wondering, when the mech. drains the engine oil from the bike, does he need to loosen the gear lever or something.. cos i remember he unscrew something there...

Hey.... Roadwin is good if you are looking for a transport bike.. but if you are really into looks or those ppl who wants to mod.... erm... think twice cos either no parts or expansive... but hey.. its a good bike...

Pickup is slow ... but hey.. SAFETY!!!! hahahah.... the bike is hard on balls... those RW riders should know... :p

ah ok thanks uncle soh.

anyway khairi, when i went to fix my 'gear position switch' had to wait for quite some time cos they have to go find one that is compatible with th RW one. But it was worth the wait.

Not sure if yours is the same.

U can try asking mechs or maybe go back to the Hyosung distributors.

Anyway been raining these past few days. Ride Safely!

140cc vs 125cc

What's the technical difference? is there a large difference in the FC?

Ok, NVM.. found the answer somewhere up the thread already..

Slight change in FC, slight increase in Hp..

Since Mr STSOH has 'upgraded' it to a 140cc (from a 125), wonder if can max out to 200cc.

Bytheway, is the upgrade legal?

it is illegal to up-size engine capacity.

if money no objection anything is possible, someone from malaysia did it.

anyway 15cc is not much compared to 75cc.

if possible in sillypore, i would want to put a 800cc engine onto rw frame and become a supermono but we can't.

fc is not much of difference btwn 125 n 140cc.

it all depends on twisiting of the throttle.

125cc = fc avg 29~30km/l, shift gear at 4.5~5k rpm, cruise at 100~110kph.

140cc = fc avg 30~31km/l, shift gear at 3.5~4k rpm, cruise at 80~90kph.

u can save more FC if cruising below 70kph.

depends on other factors including carb setting, either rich or lean.

if your concern is fc, ride a smaller bike like kup (avg 40km/l).

or bajaj pulsar 180 (claimed avg 50km/l).

sport scooter fc avg 24km/l.

Thanks. But the main reason why I like the RW is cos it looks like an S4 yet maintains like any other 2B bike, if not better.

I'd like to own a S4 some day, but for the $$ i'm spending, i think it might be better I save up for a CL 2 bike instead.

Speed is not my requirement (tho i think travelling at 70km/h is a little slow), just like to see how far the bike can go without running dry.

The Bajaj is among my other options, but the looks of the bike is a letdown.

its so hard not to run dry... the insurance cost just raise to over 1.2K Third party for a roadwin... Its over a 100% increment...
