ride the bike at 100 very wobbly leh.. should be cause by the vibration right? btw my handle bar is lowered b4. at 90-95 still no problem..

it should not be wobbling, vibration on handle is norm.

check for any loose play on steering head, front wheel, brake rotor, brake pads jam.

new tire??

check air pressure r sufficient or not.

front tire air pressure = 29 psi or 200 kpa.

rear tire air pressure = 32 psi or 220 kpa.

shall check later. straight road still ok.. but jus tat the handle bar is very sensitive. so if there is a turn at the expressway if my hand is not super firm, the bike wobbles.

Ok, I got big big big big big problem.

Riding along at 50kmh (yes, slowly...) rear tyre wobble... very loud scraping sound from rear, right hand side, possibly brakes...

WHen i stop, the sound stop, so can't be engine. When i move, the faster I go, the 'lesser' the sound, but when i slow down, can wake up the whole neighbourhood.

When stationary, park on mainstand, and in first gear, turn throttle, no sound, but can see the tyre wobble...

Visual check, there's no blockage or what, so not sure where the problem come from.

It was ok in the morning. Just that earlier after watching midnight show, and sending my gf back.. then I on the way back home that it happen. KEnna roadblock, policeman ask me if i stole the bike...

Help needed..

Suspect brake mounting got problem.. or can also be rod that holds the tyre in place. Hope rims didn't bend...

I just need the assurance that I can still ride from Yishun to CKA HQ in one piece w/o having to carry my bike in many pieces....

Hi guys,

Stsoh's first prediction is right.. The bearings broke. out of 9 or 10, there's only 6 left. Replaced one set plus the rubber dampener.. total $45.

Pretty cheap considering I could have caused more damage to the bike by riding it, isntead of towing it.

Now to change my tyres. HQ doesnt have the front duro wheel. Have to look at other places. My front tyres starting to bubble, probably due to eneven pressure within the tyre itself (due to wear & tear and maybe potholes...

ANyone usung non-swallow tyres? Care to share with me the brand & model? At least I dun need to machiam noob ask so many questions at hte bike shop later.

THinking of heading to Ah boy to get a set of wheels... preparing to kena carrot. But I'm still shopping around...

check with skybin86 coz he just got battlelax tires.

i been using metzeler 'ME1', pls don't mistook it as 'M1' which has higher specs for superbikes use (it's a waste on 400cc).

'ME1' is replaced by 'Lasertec', a new model, better specs n more expensive.

if u r able to find 'ME1' on the market, it is old stock coz out of production some years back.

Wow...ok tanx Mr STSOH...

I was also considering the daelim B-bone a second choice of bike, just tat i worry if i want to upgrade my license to 2a in 2-3years time, would it be hard to learn how to use the clutch and gears again...

Anyway, I guess RW very popular here in my neighbourhood, got a chance to ask one uncle riding a blue RW, he says that the bike is good, easy to maintain, not too fast, not too slow, very reliable and i think he told me he been riding it for the past 5yrs. So i guess RW is quite a reliable bike then...

really don't like carlube oil maybe it's viscosity is too thin (10w-40 grade).

hard to shift gears n time2time slip gear when shifting first to second gear.

currently change to royal purple max-cycle 20w-50 ($18 per bottle).

rp max-cycle is the best for my rw.

i like it's smooth n slickness when shifting gears, plus easy to find neutral.

this is an extended time oil, it means oil can last longer than others.

example:

most oil manufacturers recommend change oil at 5,000 miles (8,000 km).

rp recommend change oil at 8,000 miles (12,000 km but need oil filter change at 5,000 miles).

another brand is 'amsoil' which is also an extended time oil.

i tot rw header is chrome, how come your is so rusty??

a new original header here in sillypore cost about S$180.

u can ask daelim agent in my to assist shipment from sillypore

or call cka for mod stainless steel header.

carburator pilot circuit is air passages in the carb.

it is design to allow air/fuel flow when the throttle/butterfly valve is close.

Nope.. Old tyres were swalllow... Then the front tyre started to have bubbles due to improper tyre pressure, probably cos i underinflate, or nevver check tyre pressure.. The mech just said wrong pressure. All this while I thought its 200-220. Usually when i send the bike for servicing at CKA HQ, Ah Ping takes care of that. Then I dun really check unless I feel like it..

Then on Tuesday i went to Friendship Motor @ Bukit Merah, opposite the Queensway Shopping Ctr, facing main road..

Paid ard 270 to replace:

a. 1 set Bridgestone Battlax BT45 - F:110/70 R:130/70

b. Replaced 1 pair front bearings

c. Replaced 1 set Rear brake pads.

at the same time, checked that front brake pump not working correctly. quoted ard 40 to replace one part in the pump. CKA HQ quoted ard $60 to replace the whole pump.

Bro baker, change your tyres as soon as you can, cos after changing to my BT45, i realised that the swallow is quite inferior. Not as good grip as my new wheels (not because they're new... hehe...) so far havent tested wet riding yet, but dry riding is much more confortable, and the vibes at 110kmh has reduced. maybe its due to thicker tyre wall to absorb the vibes. (130/70 vs 140/60.. thicker walls...) Dunno how many times i near buang with my swallow tyres..

Lastly, dun be afraid to pay the premium for quality. Our original parts may not be as good as aftermarket. (Made in Korea vs Made in Japan).

My advise, for things related to the engine, may be wiser to use original. But other things (brake pads, tyres, chain...) maybe aftermarket products would be better.

Test rode the b-bone and RwR as well. too smooth for my linking. probably cos I can't feel the engine strain. I love my carburator motorbike.

Also, cos if increased FC due to wear and tear, adjusted the clip from 3rd (centre) to 4th (one from the top) last week. But realised that engine lacking power. probably too used to 'shooting off' at the lights, and changing gears at 6k rpm, near the sweet spot. (depending on bike setup, my sweet spot is around 6200 rpm.)

Also cruising around 90kmh, slightly over 7k rpm.

Still wearing in my tyres. but feeling the improved grip already.

aiks...then i guess its gonna cost alot to replace it here in m'sia...anyways i'm gonna go to johor 2moro to look at another roadwin..condition is way better than the first one i saw(the rusted manifold) ..if everything goes well..i'll own a roadwin soon..cant wait :p roadwin rocks!

Hmm.. okay..

Take a little ride around. ask the owner how far can one tank of petrol go. Typically it should be around 400kms, or more.

Because engine spare parts are hard to find in malaysia, I suggest u be ULTRA sure that you want the bike. Even here in Sg, we finding it hard cos replacement parts are quite expensive.

DOn't rush to buy, that's all i can say.

wow!!! in tat case i shd change my tyres soon. haha. i'll try ur recommendation.. bt45 rite? anyway, u know how much the tyres cost individually??

i'm pumping 200front and 230rear, cos i pillion almost 100%, not getting any bubbles... u said the mech said wrong pressure is it? is it the mech at bukit merah? did he say wad was the pressure then??

anyway, i'm using 4th slot now. getting pretty decent fc now. power wise, it's significantly lesser but i got used to it quite fast. so i guess u will get used to it soon too!
