still on the money-planning board.

no market for super-single sport.

few ppl like me have much interest in these.

bike should be light, agile n quick on the throttle......not those huge monsters.

450cc singles only on super-motarts. :sian:

super single means one plug n less EO rite? save money compared to those inline 4! :cheeky: :cheeky: :cheeky:

fz6?? it's time u look at yamaha xj6.

anyway, inline-4 still a turn-off for me.

everytime i look at it, it's fat.

no supersingle naked bikes in the market.

it's not about savings.......it's more like agility n lightness.

it's having more fun riding a stallion than riding a bull.

isnt that an old model? is there a new one? i kinda like the fatness haha. well, to each his own! i really love the fazer tho, more so than any other 600 - 1000cc bike.

btw, i think ive located my rattling sound.. i think its from my speedo cover thingy. not that sure but will test further when im free this weekend

major difference btwn fz n xj is the exhaust muffler.

fz muffler under the seat.

xj muffler under the engine.

still prefer an update ver srx6 for 2010.

Posted

its mentioned that the xj is more torquey at lower rpms than the fz as it is a detuned fz engine (in other words detuned of detuned r6 engine lol).

btw i still couldnt locate the vibration for my bike.. gonna buy the long spanner tool to open my sprocket cover to see if my issue is the same as yours

u can get those cheap sockets with extention set, tat's wat i'm using.

but if u intented to work on serious stuff, it's good to get a expensive set like snap-on or stahwillie brand.

if your sprocket cover is plastic, do not overtighten, it will crack.

i purchased a cheap set for $7 haha. those long ones which can attach several hex heads and screw heads. btw, my problem is not the sprocket cover, sadly. Roadwin R does not have the bracket like roadwin and i checked the whole sprocket cover for wear - there was none. i added washers tho just for the fun of it. the mystery of the sound remains!

btw to update on the sound thing.. i think its the nut i used to keep the sprocket that bracket in place. i didnt use the allen head bolt, i used another one that is filed down.

so now i changed to the allen head bolts, seems like the sound is abit less obvious, but its still there. so i guess thats the cause. mr.soh u seldom rev to 8-9k rpm right? if u do can let me know if u hear a sound? cos right now my sprocket + chain + bolts are exactly the same as yours already!

i usually do 8~9k rpm @ 100~110 kph on expressways.

if traffic was not congested will do 10k rpm @ 120 kph on the meter (actual speed probably was 108 kph with 10% error).

not so noisy after i solved the sprocket plastic cover rattling n chain-ride-on-bracket problem.

maybe u should try 15t front sprocket to test whether is it the cause of your problem?

hm, sprockets are all the same size right? as in thickness and such.. cos cka does not have 15t for my bike i asked already.. so i can buy outside and ask them to help me fix it on?

sprockets r common, sizes r differ in nos. of teeth n pitches eg. 425, 428, 525, 530 etc.

oh so is our stock sprockets of 428 pitch?

yes, rw use 428 pitch.

higher pitch sprockets with different inner diameter splined slot for mounting onto drive shaft, so other higher pitches normally can't fix.

Posted

normally u will be able to hear some kind of chain/sprocket meshing sound as u accelerate.

unlike the rhythm chatting where there r two points contacts on the tips of the bracket.

Posted

hm, kinda hard to understand what u are describing and also hard for me to describe my sound here.. haha. i guess the only way to solve the problem is to get lucky one day like you! the sprocket cover thingy

cb400 s (not ss), it is cb400 super bol d'or.

it's the same as cb400 with frontal shield.

only naked single from honda is honda xbr500.

also a rare breed in sg.
