it will be hard to sell since exhibit in 2003 tokyo motor show.

too retro in a sense, many will opt for india enfield 350 or 500 instead.

i prefer something like yamaha srx 600.

hey hey hey! yest heavy rain, then i think the water "washed" my radiator fan abit.. when the rain stop and the bike dries, the vibrating sound is gone! today when riding i tried to notice the sound and it still was there but very soft now.. i conclude that 99% its due to the radiator fan maybe dirty or sth that made the noise. that also justifies that the vibration only happens at a certain rpm range at all gears as the fan spins according to the rev..

2008 July - 2010 March: Daelim Roadwin R 125 (FBC 8363 K)

2010 March - 2011 September: SYM GTS 200 (FBD 7445 J)

2011 September - 2013 April: Yamaha Fazer fz6s2 (FBB 5824 Y)

2013 March - now: Honda NC700XD (FBH **** D)

hmm....it's still hard to tell, sound is there but softer.

wet n cold, metal contract n human hearing/feels also impair too.

radiator fan activates when temperature r hot, it is blow out front thru the radiator (not suck in as in riding with wind going thru).

most likely some metal2metal contacts rattling.

Hi Roadwinners,

I was quoted $1100+ insurance, for a new roadwin. I am holding 2b license for about one month and I am around 25 years old. I am new at this, but I think that price is quite ex for 2b bike insurance. Did anyone of you pay this price for 2b bike insurance?

Posted (edited)

for new rider, your 1st party insurance is sky high for new bike.

u can opt for 2nd party insurance which is actually 3rd party with theft+fire coverage.

it is best tat u use the money to buy a cheap 2nd hand bike with cheaper 3rd party insurance.

insurance policy r group by age eg. those below 20 yr old r the highest risk group therefore very expensive.

on the other hand, those above 40 yr old r low risk n theirs 3rd party insurance r very much cheaper like ard $150.

btw, rw has evolved to rwR, u can go to new thread link below for Q n A:

My bike is a 2nd hand (me 3rd owner), i'm below 25, 2nd year insurance (no NCB) is 837 with NTUC for 3rd party with fire & theft.

Between looks and speed, I pick looks.

maybe just to add into the list:

my roadwin's insurance is SGD350 with Anda Insurance (Agent for AXA), 3rd party no fire and theft; i'm below 25 years old.

hey nudge,

found these marks on the sprocket bracket bolts might be cozing the rattlings u r having, just like mine.

to solve this rattling either use 15t front sprocket or make sure there r clearance btwn bolts/bracket from the huge X-ring links.

see blurred pics (no marco function), filed down bolt head from 10mm to 9mm.

minimum clearance, hope it clears.

removed the extra sprocket cover washers, not the coz of rattle.

found couple of smaller head bolts, still got to filed it down.

at least it provides more clearances.

sorry, more blurred pics......

note:

gap clearance r too small, too much trouble doing all these grinding n filing.

best solution is to use bigger 15t sprocket tat will provide more clearance.

word of cautions: don't use 14t sprocket with x-ring chain.

Halo! I've been riding daelim roadwin for slightly more than 1 year. Recently i juz changed e clutch plate for my bike. Ever since,my bike will vibrate violently at 70-80kmh instead of e usual 90-100kmh. Can anybody tell me if all this is due to e new clutch plate? thx...

Posted (edited)

vibration is norm for rw.....stock vib at two zones 4~5k n >8k rpm.

i don't think it is your clutch plate tat coz vib in different zone.

it's probably u r using different sprocket ratio set.

stock sprocket ratio = 14t/42t, vib zones r at 4~5k n >8k rpm.

sprocket ratio = 15t/42t, vib zones r at 5~6k n >9k rpm.

wat sprocket ratio r u using now?

a leaner carb tuned does vib more than a richer tuned carb but it will not switch vib zone.

another possibility is ur rpm gauge is not reading correctly before n after.

sorry long time no check forum was in tekong for bmt recourse.. the rattling sound ive determined that it came from my radiator due to some components touching the fan slightly.. i dont have the sound anymore.. but i'll check my bolts to see if they have the markings

Thx for all e comments, ppl! Btw,wat do u mean dt e rpm gauge is no reading correctly before n afta? Besides changing my clutch plate,e mechanic also did tighten e drive chain slack n oso adjusted e idling speed. Could these changes have affected e vibration problem also? Thx...
