follow the owner's manual maintenance schedules.

u can see there r either by kilometers or months whichever one come first.

for example, if u can cover more 4,000 km within 6 months then use kilometers.

but if seldom use your bike, say in 6 months u cover less than 4,000 km then use months.

basically the main items r:

1) oil change every 4,000 km.

2) oil filter change every alternate oil change (4,000 km x 2, not as per schedule).

3) spark plug every 8,000 km or when got problem starting engine.

4) adjust chain tension every 1,000 km.

5) spray chain lubrication every 1,000 km.

6) air filter change every 20,000 km (not as per schedule).

7) fork n brake fluid change every 2 yrs.

8) brake pads, chain/sprockets, tyres change when worn.

etc.........

Hi Just got my hands on my Roadwin.

Its a nice, big 2B bike.

Solid build and stable, with CB400 styling :)

Here's a pic of my bike. Did some DIY stickers with the Black striping.

Next is to check CKA for a belly-pan :)

A big portion of my decision was the Roadwin community on the forums.

Thanks for all the informative post uncle soh.

I've been slowly learning about basic motorcycle mechanics, all thanks to the people on this forums :)

Great to see this thread so lively.. haha... Tml will be goin down to CKA to pay for my bike n hope can ride it by this friday. Btw guys, wads the diff between a 150cc rw n a 125cc rw except for the engine? Like 150cc got any better features or anythin diff?

it's not 150cc, exactly 140.2cc (later batch of rw named 'X5').

after retune carb, say a gain of less than 1 or maybe it's 0.5 horsepower.

maybe becoz of my carb was well tuned b4.

i did the upgrade from 125cc to 140cc, tat's how i know.

if u want pickup, just change rear sprocket from 42t to 44t.

if u want power, just shift jet-needle's eclip from 2nd to 4th slot.

u can have both too, it's a lot cheaper to mod than engine upgrade.

after all, if really really want power n speed.

upgrade yourself n get class 2 licence then get a litre bike.

it's no comparsion from 10~20 horsepower class 2b bike to >100 horsepower class 2 bike.

it's way.....way.....way huge differences.

i dun encourage engine mods, from 125 to 140 is 15cc.

15cc can't give much performance improvements.

even if u did mod to 200cc together with big carb,

it will not pump up to 20 horsepower, most likely to be around 16hp.

change your b-bone to T-max or silverwing or anything 500cc scooter, up to 50 horsepower.

here's a trick about cvt, it's like playing with front/rear sprockets.

scoot with lesser power like 125cc, u should try out lighter roller weights.

lighter weights roller require more centrifugal force to sprung out for clutch engagement,

thus more rpm = more torque, will give better pickup.

reverse effects for heavier roller weights, less rpm to engage = earlier engagement, lesser torque.

unless your scoot have power like t-max or sw, then use heavier rollers.

the clutch & roller already lightest that i can find on the market but still can't perform when ride on a total weight 100kg( 2person ) when uphill totally lost power but when i'm alone i should say it is super that why i'm think to upgrade :( the old time when me on my Daystar 125 same problem after upgrade it become better on the uphill so think should i do the same for my b-bone.

i gave roy some tiny paper washer for carb jet-needle to shim up for more richness fuel, did roy do your carb??

i did the engine upgrade didn't improve any performance, tat's why i'm against it (money wasted).

wow..nice bike. i've always wanted to change my roadwin to yellow but always contemplated on how it would turn out. but urs seems..not bad:)

TQTQ :)

I bought it 2nd hand from Skybin. He did a good job taking care of his bike.

And I inheirited its good looks...haha

Slowly doing minor cosmetic mods.

Plan is to:

1) Install Belly pan (DIY)

2) Fender Eliminator kit (not sure if its legal tho...hmmm.)

3) Slip on Exhaust (Ixil? Moriwaki? need some feedback from bros in the forum)

Uncle Soh: Read your multiple posts on the sproket changes for pickup. Where do you go to do it? Back to CKA?

Posted

no, not at cka.

find any bike shop which have sprockets tat i want.

depend whether u want pickup or top end speed.

stock sprocket ratio is 14t/42t is the same as 15t/45t.

ratio 42/14=3 is the same as 45/15=3.

rear tyre size also plays a part on pickup.

stock is 140/60 but not common in the market.

most shop r stock with 130/70 which is bigger in diameter/circumference.

14t/42t with 130/70 tyre can bearly pull up to 10,000 rpm.

if u want to pull beyond 10,000 rpm, can try 44t rear sprocket.

ask around any bike shop, i think 44t sprocket cost around $20~25.

pickup will improve but top end speed will reduce.
