tat's the tank top drain tube, it is connected to the fuel filling cap area in case when over spill during top up.

tube suppose to be route at the back of the engine with other drain tubes eg. carb n airbox.

there is a something like a bracket welded at the swing-arm to hold these tubes together.

will this cause the bike to not start? when i hit the starter, the bike just wont start anymore..like there's no throttle. this just happened after washing my bike

no, tat's just a drain tube.

check your battery, might be flat.

made sure u change new battery every 2~3 yrs.

if u r able to start after battery charged up.

ask your bike shop mech to check stator coil.

rev engine to 5k rpm, voltage between battery should be 14.5 volts (-+ 0.5).

burnt stator coil may not have sufficient voltage to charge up battery.

before, i tried starting the bike right after washing it. it started but then died out slowly after..after that, it couldn't start anymore but there's the spark sound when i press the starter. how do i check whether my battery is flat?

Hi Suppose,

I had this problem too about 2 months ago. Like Uncle Soh said, it's my stator coil. I had to replace it. After that I'd no more problem. Maybe go check it out?

Cheers. =)

first sign of battery flated is unable to crank engine when u press start button.

old/bad battery can coz stator coil to burnt.

there r three phase + one ignition coils in the stator.

three phase coils is the electric generator tat generates 3 phase electricity to your bike.

these phased current r converted to DC by rectifier n regulator to 12~15 volts.

normally one of the set coils will burnt out can be due to shorted by bad battery.

if u can recharge the battery, the ignition coil can fire up the engine but will not charge the battery due to insufficient electrical charge.

it is encouraged to change battery every 2~3 yrs to prevent stator coil burnt out.

u might be lucky tat it's just the battery if the stator coils r check out to be fine.

replace your old battery.

yes, not just the stator, any short in the electrical system will do tat too.

sometimes a faulty bulb/switch/devices can create a short,

sometimes the short was low drain amps doesn't blow the fuse

but will drain the battery power.

kk thnks for clarification. =)
