just change my tires to bridgestone battlax bt-45.

it's a touring with street performance tire.

it's DCT (dual compound thread).

dct means hard layer at the center for long mileage n softer silicon compound at the edge for cornering grip.

bt-45 front 110/70-17 'H'-rating = S$90.

bt-45 rear 140/70-17 'H'-rating = S$138.

total = S$228, after discount S$225.

quicker turn-in when corner than my previous metzeler ME-1 but getting use to it, seem better now.

it's better clear all the hairy hairy rubbery tip ends to prevent unnerving run when turning.

Today my daelim roadwin 125 suddenly brokedown while on my way back home. It just died off like that while riding. i could not get it start at all after stopping. The neutral light is ON but the starter just cant seem to start the engine. Tried by putting in first gear and push the bike then release the clutch also cant start. Did some check, battery is ok! spark plug is ok! fuel got! Reserve fuel checked. but still dont know what happen. Left that bike at friends house for temporary moment because it was raining. So my friend sent me home. Im still wondering what has happened. As black oil i have changed as well before and it was running good .... dont know what happen ... need help or any similar case happened before?

maybe it's ur stator coil is burnt.

how old is ur battery? it is recommend to change battery every 2~3 yrs.

old battery sometimes can cause stator coil to burn due to overloading.

How to prevent stator coil from burning?

Its a machine afterall, so eventually, the coil will age and be more sensitive to overloading.

Nonetheless, you can still prolong it's lifepspan by keeping your battery new, rectifier checked, mechanically sound, magnet in place, wiring no short in circuit and etc. Too many things to do, too many things to take note.

When riding, I'll rather not compromise on safety, so any little uneasiness felt with the bike? Straight go to mech to sort it out. We're afterall skin wrap bone. :thumb:

How to prevent stator coil from burning?

basically it depends on the design of the bike, it's hard to prevent stator coil from being burnt.

rw is not so bad, most last about 40~50,000 km.

avoid bike like cbr1000rr 2004~2006 model, flaw in it's design.

so were many honda models like cbr919rr, b4 internet forum era.

many wun last, some last about 5~7,000 km or the next start button pressed.

honda gives cbr1000r model 2004~2006 seven yrs warranty for burnt stators.

but who want a bike tat wun start at any time n in middle of nowhere.

make sure u change battery every 2~3 yrs.

check battery is not bloated on it's side, it indicate something is not rite internally,

pls change regardless battery is still giving good discharge.

every bike will burnt it's stator coil sooner or later, just like any electrical appliances.

happy new year!

just wondering, carb must tune ? cannot just leave it there uh ?

somehow my bike feels different :/

FC dropping too:cry:

yes, u can leave the carb as stock, tuning is not a must.

stock setting is lean to conserve fuel n meet euro emission standard.

we re-tune the carb to meet our own standard, to satisfy ourself.

reasons for fc going up:

1) fc dropping becoz ur throttle twisting is faster n faster.

2) air-filter slowly getting clog up with dust n dirt thus restrict air flow, fc will slowly goes up.

3) piston rings n cylinder linear worn out, compression drop n fc goes up.

4) tires air pressure not maintain at recommended pressures (deflated) coz more drag, fc goes up.

5) rushing from point A to B, hard braking, fc goes up.

many more.......

to save fuel:

1) go easy with the throttle.

2) do not travel above 70kph.

3) coast down to a stop.
