don't travel highway at 70kph, ride at 90kph.

normal road don't exceed 70kph.

analog speedometer reading error is 10%.

at 70kph, actual speed is 63kph.

at 90kph, actual speed is 81kph.

digital speedometer reading error is 2~5%.

how do you get to learn and know so much things!! really appreciate your help and advice.. its valuable knowledge for me :)

....

studied n work with engine.

luv riding since young.

uncle stsoh, when u upgraded ur roadwin to a 140cc, what other parts did u have to change? did u have to change to a bigger carb and bigger manifold exhaust system too?

i have just increase my piston size and some mods with the valve and changed my carb to a bigger one,28mm. There's more pickup and power than before but when i start the bike, the rpm goes up to 4k and stays that way, even when i'm riding the bike. mech says it could be a problem with my throttle cable and the exhaust system, claiming that the manifold is too narrow causing the pressure inside unable to escape so i have to change it to a bigger one. what say you?:p

i'm still using the same high-flow KNN air-filter n stainless steel 1" ID header b4 n after engine mod.

cka-hq did the engine mod, they use X5 piston/rings n rebored cylinder linear, tat's all.

after the mod, i felt loss of power instead.

i did retuned my stock carburetor, changes i did after engine mod:

1) main-jet size from 100 to 102.

2) slow-jet size from 38 to 40.

3) pilot(air)-screw set to 1 1/4 turns which is 1/4 turn from nominal (1.5 turns).

unlike stock default setting 2 1/8 turns which is at almost max (2 1/2 turns).

4) header was welded a 3/4" hole steel washer at muffler-end b4 engine mod.

after engine mod, welded the other end of header too.

now both ends r welded with 3/4" hole steel washers n did improve low rpm torque.

tat's all the changes i make n it remains the same until now.

if i want more power then i will set jet-needle clip to slot 4.

i believe u need to retune ur carb settings, bigger carb is not necessary better.

main thing is getting correct air/fuel mix, ie. 14.7gm (wt) of air : 1gm (wt) of fuel.

main-jet n slow-jet components r cheap, they cost S$5 n S$7 respectively in sillypore.

idle at 4k rpm is too high which means engine will overheat n wastage of fuel.

hey, does any of you install axle and frame sliders onto your bike? is so, where did you do it?

those r useless on rw coz the handle bar-ends does the job well.

so far i crashed once when i executed an emergency brake.

my bike went down in a blink of an eye wink on the muffler side.

damage mirror, scratch marks on the muffler, handle bar-end n box, nothing else.

steering tri-cramp yoke need to be loosen, to set front wheel alignment straight again.

engine n frame did not touch tarmac, so it is pointless to install those things.

not sure wat will happens if it falls on the other side.

i feel on the left side... a soft fall, same like uncle fall when e-brake... my front wheel lock when i rode over the stop line, then KHABOOOM... hahahaa... bike all ok, my steering cone bearing gone, my mirror ok, my balancer minor scratch, box scratch, broke my footrest bracket along with the gear lever shaft.. total damage was 60+ if not wrong.. ask my friend get the footrest bracket from cka, then went to a motorshop near my house to weld back my broken gear lever shaft for $2..

oh ya, forgotten about the foot brake lever.

it was bent inwards, i used a ring spanner n bent it back to norm.

no damage on foot stand coz it can fold upward.

i nvr knew tt can be changed>

how do you know when ur bike is at its limit and u shud stop turning the trottle before piston jam >

ps... wads the lowest i can tune my idling speed to ?

engine mod is illegal period.

but when engine wear out, it can be rebuilt (repair) to next available size.

common practice among bike/car/diesel engine repair shops.

there r limits on how much material tat a cylinder linear can be rebored.

rw redline is 10,000 rpm.

for all bike/car/vehicles, try not to go beyond redline.

normally most bikes' idling speed is set to around 1,500 rpm plus/minus 100 rpm.

for hot climate like sillypore, mostly not a problem to set around 1,200 rpm.

but need longer time to warm-up bike, otherwise engine will just die-off, not warm enough.

icic... wad engine oil do you guys think is perfect for rw and how many km before u top it up?

do i need to drain anything before top up?

yes, u need to drain old eo in-order to fill up with new eo.

so far i've tried several eo brands n rp max-cycle 20w-50 eo is the best.

i want to try maxim synblend 20w-50 extra on my next oil change.

change eo n oil-filter at every 4,000 km according to owner's manual schedule.

if u seldom travel a lot, less than 4,000 km then change eo every 3 months whichever one come first.

i'm using rp max-cycle 20w-50 eo which is extended oil change.

i dun ride every often, not exceeding 4,000 km even after 3 months.

change my eo every six months.

u can check oil dipstick for oil level in ur engine.

do not check when engine is hot or after riding.

check b4 riding when engine is cold.

check eo level once a week if level is still at same level then do it once a month.

unlike phantom which is famous for burning eo.

i've been riding rw for six yrs, eo level is still good.

there's no need to top up until next oil change.

Posted

best is go to cka for repair.

if u check the owner's manual, there is a maintenance schedule to replace fork oil every two yrs.

many riders had neglect such maintenance, thus deteriorating fork oil causing wear components.

same goes for brake oil........over yrs can cause parts to corrode due to oil deterioration.
